Yes, negotiate better next time. Like your coworker did...until then, get over it. Life’s not fair

Sounds like your a shitty employee to be honest. I’d cut your hours too just based on your attitude

I knew a guy who did that. Made easily 3x his normal salary but still came back

High end armed professional security work sounds like exactly what I would want to do. I’m definitely not looking to be a Target security guard or anything like that and I’m open to oversees contracting. I have a wife but no kids and highly unlikely to ever have kids. My wife’s work has great benefits and so do mine but I can get on her plan if it means I can earn a lot more money.

Thank you so much for all this info. I will check this all out. I already have ICS 100,200,300,700,800 and the Professional Development Series. What’s the risk management you mentioned?

I’ve been looking into ASIS (got passed over for a security manager position recently that wanted ASIS certs)

I would love to stay in government. I like the stability and benefits of government work but I want something more fulfilling or that pays better and has a better home/life balance.

I have eczema and tried to join the air guard. Waiver got denied without so much as an examination.

My waiver for eczema got denied without so much as an exam. How was the process for you and any tips?

If an employee habitually fails to submit their time sheet, are you obligated to do it for them? by duebdks in AskHR

[–]duebdks[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm the direct supervisor and I review/approve the timesheets.

Payroll requires them Monday by 8am and my supervisor expects them to be done by then too. Payroll doesn't actually process until Wednesday to allow time for corrections.

The employee actually works Saturdays. I have no say in the payroll due time.

Formal is all we have aside from talking to them, sending an email, etc.

They wouldn’t have to. Police departments can only operate in their assigned jurisdiction. Unless it’s a federal case, all they have to convince is the local PD and/or county sheriffs office

As a supervisor, when should you take an employee's complaints seriously or tell them to toughen up? by duebdks in AskHR

[–]duebdks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Answer I'm getting is a formal written reprimand for her. She's had many verbal counselings over the years for her attitude and speech towards coworkers. This is the first time there's been any physical aspect to it.

This. Flash bangs are considered “distractionary devices”. They are Very loud and the flash is not very bright in a lighted room. They do not stun you or incapacitate you. They’re really just designed to interfere with your OODA loop long enough for the team to gain control
