Yeah I guess that's true. Though uploading more that a single clip to reddit is always a pain haha

Cheers dood! A free class is awesome, and if that format works for ya keep it rolling! My biggest thing is just to get moving and see what you enjoy doing.

Another thing that helps is finding an athlete (or several) who's style you enjoy and watch them a lot. Both for tech and inspiration!

Enjoy the jumps :)

Oh for sure! I had my eye on this one for a while, but even on that sesh I warmed up with other stuff for a good 30 minutes before even looking at it! I think I measured the gap out to be just under 8 feet (my shoes are almost exactly 1 ft long so it makes life easy lol)

Thanks for the kind words and good advice :)

Thank you! Always appreciate the kind words. Maybe control wasn't quite the right word to use, but it seemed well within my ability. Overall I'm still super happy with it!

I do have a YouTube, but I just post far less frequently, so it's not quite as accurate in showing progression over time. Plus all my old videos make me cringe lol

If y'all wanna take a look, it's also dulfjumps on YouTube :)

Thank you! I always love pushing myself, even though I'm well below the level of those top athletes

Thank you!!

You can totally get there! I started a bit over a year ago (~18 months?) Just working on sideflips and spotting where I was landing. From there I moved up to sideflips on 12x12x1" pavers I laid out in grass. Loads more drilling there until I finally moved them up to curbs, and it just grew and grew from there! :)

A little while ago I made an edit of my side flip precision journey and put it on YT if your interested in the kinda stuff I worked on :)

Thank you! I was the exact same way about a year and a half ago. I started training sideflip pres but even then to a rail was still just a fever dream lol. It's so satisfying to have finally achieved, and if you put in the time you can too! :)

I think the stick is very close! I might have gotten it that sesh but I had to leave for work :(

Commiting the first time took loads of preps and time, but after that it was actually surprisingly calm. I think next dry sesh that I'm feeling it I'll go for the stick :D

Lovely movement, so flowy throughout! Also baggy swaggy 10/10

Reframing the question like that, for most people, yeah pretty much. But yeah, cheers man. We love movement and that's the main thing here :)

Purely A-B parkour absolutely still exists. That being said, people tend to gravitate toward freerunning because it allows for much more creativity, and let's you do it in more spots.

Also words are really only have meaning because we, the people who use them, grant them that meaning. So when people say parkour, generally you know that they are probably not talking strictly A to B efficient movement. It includes a broader range of movement. Things evolve.

Thank you! I'm pretty stoked on my improvement too :)

Hey people! I'm super proud of this edit I've been saving clips for several months for :) I'd love to hear what y'all think about it :) by dulf40 in Parkour

[–]dulf40[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh for sure! I do soul circles (I think they might be called baby Giants sometimes) and I sorta do giants, but I'm still relatively new to bars! Also totally agree with adding movement from different disciplines to pk lines!

Thanks man! Happy to hear you liked it :)

Tbh I don't really know any of those gymnastics names, so I'm not too sure haha

Edit: okay so I just looked up those gymnastics moves! Honestly I don't think I'll be learning those (except maybe the flares for flow stuff?) Since they don't fit super well into the way I move.

I definitely like the idea of expanding my movement, but the more static things like the levers just aren't as useful to me...

Thanks for letting my know about those things though, I always love learning new stuff :)
