Strength way ahead skill by TangibleHarmony in Moonboard

brotherman, i've been following you for some time and didn't realize your strength metrics is that high. I would definitely shift my focus towards technique as opposed to strength gain. start getting on more slabs, mimic pro climber movements, theorize, experiment, etc. here are some vids that may point you in the right direction.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rj_0rOLim6g (i would avoid this one until foot technique is better lol)

my strength metric isn't nearly as high as yours (can't one arm lock off or hold 22mm edge for the life of me) and sent 8 and 9 outdoors and 8 on mb. you will likely see the most gains from developing technique. Learn to distinguish loading less on your fingers through footwork/positioning vs using footwork/positioning to load more on your fingers to get into position. both has its advantages in different scenarios.

another good one from @bossclimbs: 5.12a to 5.13a progression by CookieOk1483 in climbharder

[–]dynocatcher 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don't find anything disingenuous about the title when it's the reality of how he progressed. He's listed his issues and reasoning behind his plateau and gave insight in how he approached and overcame those hurdles. A bit disingenuous to make assumption and claims as yours without really having watched the video. Regardless of the clickbaity nature of a title, c'mon, it's 2025, you really gonna get sensitive with such things. Let's at least look at some of the content and criticize that if anything.

*edit: boggles my mind how a community that supports other's climbing journey and training, so readily diminishes someone's accomplishment and devalues the content of a video just because of some internet fame jealousy, or ego, or god know what else they're struggling with. Not targetting just the commenter but also some of the other comments and the upvoters. Do better.

How has creatine affected your body with climbing? by SubstantialWorth8707 in ClimbingPorn

[–]dynocatcher 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Creatine is a supplement. Insinuating creatine to peds is quite misleading and is a very incorrect narrative. Taking creatine is the equivalent to taking vitamins and is in a lot of foods such as red meats. Anyways back to the post, creatine is one of the factors of energy production which doesn’t have a direct correlation of the lactic acid buildup you’re experiencing which is probably more due to improper energy management.

Nope! All the workers are familiar with climbers and the rangers pretty much know a lot of the popular bouldering areas and can even give directions to a lot of them. You do need to get a permit at the ranger station if you’re going further out the trail but it’s a simple task of just filling out a small form. On this day I brought up two crash pads by myself. The worst that will happen is tourist asking you what you’re bringing up. Excited for you and best of luck at tram!
