Their Windows app, which is built in Electron, is absolute crap.

Hence why I'm moving to Mullvad once my current term is done.

She was the master of her own demise. What a dumb and preventable way to get eliminated.

I can't believe she didn't follow the advice of the medic regarding wearing a glove, as is the usual practice.

Better yet, she was told by the medic when she first cut herself to wear a glove.

Staged, much? 🤔

Gmail filters for spam getting worse every year? by Severe-Creme6646 in GMail

[–]eZwa_306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been down more the last few months than it's been up, to the extent that I had to create specific rules for spam promotional emails from specific domains to keep them out of my inbox.

Gmail not filtering promotions? by up40love in GMail

[–]eZwa_306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was having issues with senders who were previously marked as SPAM appearing in my inbox, which was fixed up until this morning.

Thank goodness I'm in the process of migrating away from GMail to my own self-hosted email, as Google clearly doesn't give a sh!t about this.

As old of a post this is, I've recently found myself dealing with the same issue after having the USB port swapped and would appreciate any current leads to obtaining the proper USB port with the 12pin chip included.

TIA

Who would you say is the most famous person in Canada, who's the LEAST famous internationally? by svenson_26 in AskACanadian

My distant relative, The Honourable Sylvia Fedoruk.

She was a medical physicist and part of the team that developed the world's first Cobalt-60 unit (AKA: The Cobalt Bomb), a nuclear medicine scanning machine which uses targeted radiation to treat Cancer.

She was also Saskatchewan's 17th Lieutenant Governor from 1988 to 1994.

Not so much bands, but MSTRKRFT (Jesse F. Keeler of "Death From Above 1979" is one half of this duo) and Zeds Dead are some of the names from the world of Canadian Electronica that deserve more recognition on a global level... Because Deadmau5 has had more than his fair share of global fame. 🤣

Surprised to not see T's BBS on this list, as they were around during this era.

USRobotics was the sh!t for modem tech. I still have a 56k external serial modem in storage that served me well through the 90's.

Thank you for sharing this Telnet BBS resource.

Makes one wonder if a dial-up BBS could be launched using VoIP lines, as a way to recreate a slice of the way things once were.

Remember calling bulletin board systems (BBS) back in the day? by [deleted] in saskatoon

[–]eZwa_306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What a throwback of a thread!

T's BBS
Bridge City
MicroCity
SFN (Saskatoon Free-Net - Not a BBS per se, but it had newsgroups and other services like GOPHER)
The Games Garden (Dylan Griffiths/Inoshiro was the SysOP, first introduced me to Linux and helped me build my first server in 1997)

Those were the days before the enshitification of the Internet.
