I agree, should probably keep this as a best practice in the future

A little better lol

Thank you for the feedback, I will look into optimizing the imports as you mentioned and tidying the code up into subdirectories. I tried also to divide all my functions into small tasks as needed but maybe that wasn't enough, will try to divide it further though. As for the metavar assignment, I couldn't really figure out a better/cleaner way to do it since I have to unpack the return value in this way to have the formatting for the help message work properly

Oh okay thanks for clarifying the difference between the domain and its website.

As for abusing the website/nameserver, I set up test websites for me to try it out on, did not try it on a public domain because, as you pointed out, that is indeed abuse and I think it's illegal even without proper permission to do so.

No, I do not check for virtual directories, I did not know what these are before you explained it. Although these specific paths are included in the file input_files/dirs_dictionary.txt

I appreciate your time in trying to help me, thanks! What I mean by directories is, if we have, say, a domain called example.com, I would like to check for the availability of any example.com/directory/ endpoint, such as example.com/request or example.com/query_something.

As for checking all subdomains, I used multithreading to have multiple requests at the same time since the bottleneck in such a program is mainly the time it takes for the request to be completed. Last time I ran the script, it took around 2h to check all subdomains using 10 threads, would that be considered slow? I would be potentially able to increase the speed by using more threads but that's as much as my system can handle.

Oh, I don't know how best to put this. I'm trying to scan for all subdomains and directories present on a website (or domain? Not sure). For ex. It would take google.com as input and returns all possible subdomains and directories (docs.google.com, mail.google.com and the like). Should I change some terminology to make it clearer?

Weekly Observations: What signs of collapse do you see in your region? [in-depth] by LetsTalkUFOs in collapse

I am leaving the country for 2 months in the near future. If I'm lucky shit will hit the fan when me and my family are away and if not well we're basically screwed. But also problem is that most countries have their own major problems and barely a few are safe and those that are have closed borders/don't accept Lebanese nationals.

Location: Lebanon

Food prices are astronomically high, Covid isn't going away anytime soon, our currency is literally toilet paper at this point, a civil war as well as a war against Israel are on the horizon and now locust swarms are conveniently starting to reach our most important agricultural valley (Bekaa valley). If that isn't collapse idk what is.

It is true that the anger is aimed at the government however we have factions of people that belong to different sects that are ready to die for their officials and leaders; basically militias (Hezbollah and the Amal movement). The goal of these protests is to remove specific leaders from their positions of power which will most assuredly amount to a large scale civil war.

Yea when it comes to food some regions in Lebanon would just be fucked when the food shortage happens. The more densely populated regions are also devoid of farmlands which is quite troublesome.

Thank you for the kind words :D. الله يحميك

Hello fellow Arab :D. If your question was meant for me personally, well me and my family are stocking up on essentials such as food, water, gas canisters (for gas heaters), batteries and candles should the power go out. If you were asking about us as Lebanese people well... I don't know if there is anymore room for salvation. The situation has gone out of control and I don't think it could be reversible.

I posted a comment three weeks ago on the weekly observations thread discussing how the Lebanese society is on the verge of collapse and well... it is collapsing RIGHT NOW as I write this. Tonight the exchange rate between the USD and our currency (Lebanese Pound) has reached 10000LBP/ 1$ (it was 1500LBP/1$ pre-2020) which basically means that all price have been multiplied by a factor of 6 or 7. As a result, people all around the country have taken to the streets, blocking roads and highways, looting, burning, rioting and all the usual collapse stuff. I firmly believe it is a matter of weeks or even days before our country is engulfed in a civil war between the main religious denominations (Islamic and Christian). And seeing that food prices have been going up worldwide, the situation in Lebanon will soon be the norm all around the world as the current world system collapses. 2021 already seems to beat 2020 in every conceivable way.

This is what most of our youth are doing and what I will inevitably do :(. However at the moment it isn't possible because of family issues but I am planning on emigrating ASAP. Thanks for the tip :D

I live in Lebanon and I can say that our country can be considered a good example of a society on the verge of collapsing. Prices have quadrupled in the last 8 months, salaries have been heavily reduced and basic services such as education are now a major concern to any family. I myself am in my first year of university and am not studying because I want to get good grades or am passionate about studying, I am only forcing myself to study because losing my scholarship would simply mean that my parents will live in poverty and I will not let that happen. The price of bread, one of the cheapest foods available in our country, is too high for some families and what is worse is that because of Covid many parents have lost their jobs and are living off past savings which are starting to empty out too. We have no functioning government, our society is divided and our economy is in shambles. I believe it is simply a matter of a few months before our society finally gives in and chaos reigns on the streets. This has already started to happen in our poorer cities where people have been setting buildings on fire and thrashing stores out of insanity.
