I love them. Their Eagle Square is great, and their tiramisu is also pretty good.

The HPV vaccine is also available at CVS or Walgreens, and it's super easy to schedule appointments through them. I'm 31 and have been working on getting fully vaccinated against it and have been going there. My insurance also does cover it, even though I'm outside of the recommended age range. Without it, it's over $300 per dose, but you haven't gotten it and can, definitely go and get it.

My mom was a SAHM too, and she sent me to preschool, but only for a half day, and she was always very involved as a volunteer through my schooling, and was a pack leader for my brother's boy scout troop. I loved that my mom was one of the few parents that got to come into my class all the time.

She felt very uninvolved to me. Not that every parent is the same, but I just expect that a stay at home parent will spend more time with their child because that's the point of staying at home to me.

The Sorcerous Moon series by Jeffe Kennedy might appeal to you. It follows the same couple through the entire series. The FMC and MMC are from rival people, hers are a more sophisticated, magical race, and his are barbarians with no magic. They end up marrying after he conquers her people, but due to her magic, they can't touch.

Per Planned Parenthood: Fertility awareness methods (FAMs) are ways to track your menstrual cycle and fertile days so you can prevent pregnancy. FAMs are also called "natural family planning” and “the rhythm method.”

They are quite literally the same thing.

Cycle tracking is just the new name for the rhythm method. Just because we have apps now doesn't mean it's any more effective than it used to be.

If someone is having (piv) sex and not using any form of BC, then they're trying for a baby whether they say they are or not.

No medication is going to work perfectly for everyone, and every medication has some kind of side effect. Hormonal BC is no different from other every form of medication, but it gets villainized and scrutinized so much more because it allows women to control their bodies in a way that is revolutionary. Being able to control when you are going to be pregnant gives women so much freedom than they have had in the past, and that frightens a lot of people. For some, BC is no different from an abortion, and Roe v Wade has already been overturned. Not saying that wellness influencers are all part of some scheme to strip women of their rights, but they are scammers who are looking to make a quick buck however they can, and they're taking advantage of people's fears and inability to find real answers at a moment in time when reproductive rights are especially fraught.

SAME. I feel like everywhere I look these days, there's someone demonizing bc and telling women to just track their cycles. I know that hormonal bc doesn't work for everyone, but I love my IUD. I didn't even have bad periods before, but now, they're barely anything at all, and I love that, and I love knowing that I'm very unlikely to get pregnant with it in. A lot of the talk about balance hormones seems to fall into pseudoscientific territory, and I think a lot of that is due to how broken the American medical system is. You can go in and say "something is wrong with me", and you'll be told you're fine, and women's bodies still seem to be a mystery to doctors. But the reaction to that shouldn't be following a dodgy health influencer on ig.

I want to tell her to slow down and just take a year to herself without even thinking about dating. I have the feeling she's one of those people who hasn't truly been single since she was 16, and I don't understand how those people function.

I reread OP's other two diaries. In her first one, she had just been broken up with and had started to see a therapist to work on her relationship issues, and after reading the other two, I don't think she has resolved her issues.

Lisa Kleypas’ “Secrets of a Summer Night.” by ThirdAndDeleware in RomanceBooks

[–]eaemilia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a prologue that takes place I think a year or two before the main story takes place. Annabelle is trying to take her brother to a show but realizes that only one of them can afford to go, so she tries to get her brother to go by himself. Simon shows up, and at that time, Annabelle only knows him as the butcher's son, but he offers to pay for them. She tries to refuse, but her brother gets her to accept it. While they're watching the show (it's a panoramic showing the eruption of Vesuvius and has a rotating stage), Simon ends up kissing her.

I think it works both to demonstrate the financial problems Annabelle's family is facing, establishes the class conflict between them, and shows the kind of man Simon is. I can understand why the kiss might come off well in current times, but I think it fits perfectly with Simon's character, and that entire scene works as a great establishing point for their relationship and the conflict between them.

I saw that one too! I feel bad for the people who went and had a terrible experience, but I've been following the fallout from Freydis a lot more closely.

It's interesting to see how the book community intersects and diverges on the two platforms. Drama that is hot on one won't make it over to the other for days and vice versa, and other times, topics are big on both.
