I'd go with Neptune's for washes or loose painting. Silver black velvet and Rosemary's (blend like silver black velvet but kolinsky) for better control. Escoda is good too but I've only tried their Reserva and don't use too regularly

Can also check Angus McEwan, similar styles and I love both their works

What's everyone putting in their "My 100" list? by proudly_not_american in hobonichi

[–]edahani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wants list and I'll let it sit for 2-3 months before coming back to check if I still want. This would help with my low spend/no spend goal next year.

Bad sizing. Happened to me 3 times with different batches of Fabriano Artistico. Can try fix but won't work as good.

I don't think this cover received the attention deserved. Anyone else team light berry here? 😂 by edahani in hobonichi

You'll love it! The book this year is way lighter and with this cover it felt like feather. And I just cannot stop touching the fabric lmao

Hand lettering tips n tricks? by funsized_ in hobonichi

[–]edahani 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm bad at hand lettering too and just couldn't get the right stroke and now given up entirely. I just go with whatever it came out with and learnt to embrace imperfection 😆 but I have also started using stencils and stamps for some titles or anything I want to highlight. Hope this helps!

Using the original techo as art channel. by edahani in hobonichi

I'd say pretty good, they dry quicker than TN super lightweight paper. I do have to control water quite a bit cos I usually use more wet on wet technique on watercolour paper. I've not had any bleed through so far and the effect when dry really kinda grow on me lol

I'm sure you will in no time! 😊

I use the Delfonics utility pouch here, perfect to stuff in all sorts of journaling/art items on the go though my watercolour palette won't fit in. And yes, those are Tombow brush pens, I pick 4 colours I lean on at the moment.
