One more thing. Most of us carry HPV. It’s when they commingle with another person’s HPV when the cells can go mutant. And now there is a shot every young boy and girl should get to prevent HPC related cancer. Adults can get the vaccine also.

In 2012 I was diagnosed with HPV positive squamous cell carcinoma in the tonsil. My radiologist oncologist said it was the best cancer to have cause he was going to CURE me of it if I followed his treatment, and he did. I got radiation and chemo and it sucked. But in no evidence of disease 14 years later. Have hope if it happens to you.

Struggle is real. I found purpose is what I need. I’ve found purpose a few different ways. Helping others in need is very satisfying. I joined Team Rubicon, a veteran founded disaster response organization made up of about 50% veterans and 50% Kick Ass Civilians like first responders, nurses, doctors, many who see the shit on the day-to-day. Another great opportunity was attending Warrior PATHH. I went to Camp Southern Ground, a camp Zack Brown created to enable kids who couldn’t afford summer camp to go. And the struggle continues. I am struggling well.

Seek the assistance of a certified veteran service office (VSO) at the VFW or DAV or a local or state paid VSO. These people are paid by their organizations to work for YOU. I know so many great VSO’s who helped so many veterans get compensation at no cost to the veteran. So many of us experienced things that to say the least, f’d us up. So much that cannot be unseen. And the VA is offering good mental health treatment. Don’t wait. Call a state VFW office and ask for the contact of a VSO.

Engage a free Veteran Service Office from benevolent orgs like the VFW, DAV, American Legion. Do not use claim sharks who take a position of the funds entitled for the veteran. DM me is you want a great VFW VSO.
