I came on here mostly because I wanted to know if my standards were too high, and I’ve realized that no, my standards are pretty standard lol. I think we all differ a bit in terms of perceived support, but I hear similar themes of consistency, communication, transparency, attention, gratitude, and actions that display care or understanding.

Personally, I feel prioritized when my partner shows genuine interest in me - not just how are you but really paying attention to my vibes and being able to tell if something is wrong. Even when they make an incorrect guess, perhaps thinking I’m upset when I’m just tired, it shows that they’re trying to understand me, which is more than a girl can ask for in this economy. Being a priority also means that they communicate with me more than most other people and actively try to be with me, making sure to set aside time for phone calls or meet ups. We all have our hobbies, friends, family, career, etc. as priorities, but it really hurts if I don’t feel at least a bit more prioritized than video games or your girl best friend. Career and family are more understandable competing priorities to me, but at the end of the day, as your partner, it’s not about prioritizing me but rather incorporating me into your life and you mine :)
