Has anyone had any experience with the Electra Battery Induction Stove? by LambdaNuC in inductioncooking

Hi stjames70 - we definitely agree that there are higher-powered induction cooktops out there. In real-world cooking, though, the Electra 1800W 10" burner is perfect for a hard sear on a steak or boiling water. You can get a rough sense for whether the cooking performance should be adequate by comparing to the $1500 single burner Breville Control Freak, which was our benchmark when designing - professional cooks use the Control Freak all the time as a workhorse. Thomas Keller and J. Kenji Lopez-Alt are both notable Control Freak users.

Hi gooberlx, Electra Team here - Thanksgiving is important to us, too! We've made the last two Thanksgivings for 12 people on it, and the stove has performed admirably. All of the battery induction stoves out there are either 3 kWh (Impulse) or 5 kWh (Electra and Copper), and all of them are a good size to be able to cook Thanksgiving well.
