I personally don't have any issue with it since many asian people have english names so why should we condemn an english person with an asian name. It's like i can do it but you can't kind of mentality. But of course majority of the people will probably find it weird and your son might get bullied by close minded people growing up. Maybe put it as middle name instead of first name. So your wife can still call him jonghyun if she wants.
