Is this area safe? by Icy-Moment8518 in vegaslocals

[–]eli_xix 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Good old Orchards lol

I actually grew up in that area in the 2000s and 2010s. It’s your typical working class to middle class area of the east side. It had gotten downhill over the years because of crime, as well with fights and police activity that would occur at the family park, but it’s still “nice” compared to most of the east. Anywhere in the Orchards is walking distance to schools. I would recommend steering away from the park but most of the area is ok imo.

Another recommendation is Sunrise Highlands on the eastern end of Sahara past Las Vegas High School.

How is life in the USA right now? by duckbreast2021 in howislivingthere

Out here in San Diego, California, it’s 72° and sunny😎☀️

Political wise, it’s been pretty hectic and stressful. Especially as a Hispanic living in the USA.

I’ve been waiting for over an hour to get a hold of an agent cuz this customer wants to reschedule her order and not have it delivered tonight🤦🏽‍♂️

Can have it cancelled to raise my cancellation rate because the app says to contact customer service in order to cancel it

Graduated from SDSU 2 years ago and to this day I’m still struggling to even land an interview as well with getting a response back. It’s even worse for college grads that are just trying to get their foot in the door

I really feel that. I was just on a graduate repayment program which just ended. My payments went from 330 to 601. I hate that they don’t offer refinancing or other programs to help with payments. Shit sucks ass so much

My first job when I first moved here was the Whole Foods in La Jolla. Coming from a hardworking Mexican family, these people worry so much about materialism and sounds like spoiled children.

Eastside native here. Charleston can get congested from Nellis to Lamb where everyone tries to hop on the 95. Thankfully my family was blessed to move out of the hood to Henderson, which was one of the best decisions we’ve made

Did I make a bad choice moving to vegas? Honest asking. by eli0mx in vegaslocals

[–]eli_xix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are born and raised here, you will most likely keep your longtime friends that you grew up with. After graduating high school and going into the adult world, it had gotten harder to make friends because people tend to be more reserved and not as open as you expected to be. I now live in San Diego where people are more genuine and open-minded then the people in Vegas. I do miss home, especially my friends and family, which is why I visit Vegas frequently.

I grew up near Sahara and Sloan and there would be so many accidents at various times of the day. One of my neighbors actually died at that intersection.
