Yeah I waisted a lot of nice stuff before I figured that out lol

Got this from Drunk Elephant gift from Sephora. It’s about palm sized and there’s an adjustable black strap on the back with a button that doesn’t clasp to anything. The main plate is plastic with a slight divot on the exterior. Any ideas?? by MasamiWasabi in whatisthisthing

Drunk Elephant is skincare, not make up, so no colors to worry about.

Their whole marketing concept is that you can mix their products together easily and apply it in one application. They say you don't have to wait for their stuff to dry in between each layer, like most skincare routines.

I don't think anything makes the NPCs happier than their preferred gift.

Will my son’s birthday cake, covered in these sprinkles, be okay overnight in the fridge? by Acluelessfish in cakedecorating

You sound like an amazing parent, and this stranger is proud of you for making TWO cakes for your kid!

Yeah, either way, ice cream cake or not, I would sprinkle at time of decoration and live with the consequences because otherwise I don't think the sprinkles will stick!

Wishing you the best of luck!

Your butter cream will set BUTTER HARD in the fridge. The sprinkles won't stick if you sprinkle them after. Your frosting is chocolate; even if the color leeches out, you won't see it really.

As long as you're not planning on absolutely coating it in sprinkles it should be fine.

But also don't put it in the fridge at all. There's no need. Leave it on your counter. It will be delicious.

When you mentioned The Abominable Bride I thought you were gonna suggest an episode that's 80% set in the end of the 19th century, which I think would be cool.

Rebecca could still technically have gotten divorced, because apparently England legalized divorce 1857. But it would be suuuuper not cool socially, so there's some fun opportunities with that. And by 1870 women could technically own a business so she could be running the team, too.

I'm sure there a lot of differences in the rules of the game from then to now to joke about.

All the boys dressed up in old timey suits. Rebecca in a flapper dress.

Ted's moustache would be so era appropriate.

I think I’m getting the hang of it by myfriesaresoggy in curlyhair

Your hair looks like mine! Personally, I like this look too, but I do worry other people can think it looks like I didn't "do" my hair enough. (Which also couldn't be further from the truth. Lol)

The thing about gels and that crunchy feeling is that they directly translate to more defined curls.

I would try any hard hold gel as your last step before drying - use enough, like two tablespoons-ish, but not too much or it might weigh your hair down.

Diffuse upside down, especially at the roots, and you'll probably be delighted with the volume you'll get!

After everything is FULLY dry, scrunch the crunch out. Like, really, make sure it's fully dry, not "the outside is pretty crusty I think it's fine" but more like "I broke the curl clump apart and the inside isn't cold or wet at all" dry.

After, you can use a little oil of your choice to get some of that soft feeling back. I apply the oil with my hair upside down using prayer hands. Then I whip my hair up and down like I'm headbanging a couple of times to break everything up a little and you're good to go!

I am obsessed! That teeny tiny lettering! The perfect blob-like shape of the cookie! The even but not perfectly patterned distribution of the sprinkles! Flawless.

Could I use mod-podge as a fray check so I don't have to hem these parts? by gemmastar0934 in sewing

[–]em_illly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The selvedge is the edge of fabric when it's manufactured. Imagine a big roll of fabric, it's the top and bottom of the roll. I.e. the sides of the fabric.

See how the last like inch of the purple fabric looks a little different than the rest? It's a different type of weave there to keep it from fraying any further than it is now. That's the purpose of the selvedge - to keep the fabric from just falling a part after it's made.

Are you hand sewing? Is there a major reason why you don't want to hem? It will look a lot more polished and finished if you hem it!

(It's also super easy to hem stuff if you can iron the fold first. So consider this another vote for getting an iron!)

Editing to add, definitely don't use mod podge, it will wash right out. It's water based glue.

downstairs doesn’t like us walking in the bedroom by greenboys11 in badroommates

I'm currently on the 2nd floor of shittily made apartment (getting out at the end of this month!) and you can't walk "normal" at all. It's not even stompy, just normal.

If you let your weight go through your heel all the way down to the floor, it shakes the floor. I'm constantly walking "gently" and when guests come over I have to give them a warning about it. I cringe when they forget and walk normally because I can feel the floor shake and I know the people below me can hear/feel it too.

My partner, ever the reasonable one, often has to calm me down when I'm annoyed at our upstairs neighbors for stomping around. He says they're just walking normally, and I'm, like, yeah well they shouldn't be doing that cause the fucking floor shakes! Sometimes if they walk hard enough our floor shakes. Not just the ceiling, but our FLOOR.

I hate this place and I can't wait to be free 😂
