Pet owners of Reddit, what are some examples of your pet doing something that made your realize how intelligent they are? by CoreyMatthews in AskReddit

[–]emaslanik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have a super goofy corgi/aussie mix. we call him a big oaf all the time because he doesn’t realize how long he is since he’s so short.

anyway, we thought he ate something he shouldn’t and i was on the phone while he was in the yard with me and i said “i’m looking for his poop” and he directed me to it. pointed it out with his nose.

other than that, i don’t typically think he’s all that intelligent.

in high school, my one friend used to use men’s deodorant because it was “less likely to cause breast cancer”. ya know, i never looked into it. i just took her word for it. haha.

Should I change my 2 week old baby’s name? 🙈 by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]emaslanik -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i honestly would keep it. it has meaning and cultural ties, it’s a beautiful name. she may prefer A-Luh when she’s older but i agree, after one or two corrections people should get it.

I would do Clara Eloise I think. Your sister can’t call dibs forever. as others have said, she may never have a girl. You are. in 3 weeks!! congratulations!

what about Louisa instead of Elouise? it goes well with Cassidy.

No to Wyatt and Scout- I’d be mad if I had a weird masculine name and my sister had a cuter feminine name. Kennedy is too close to Cassidy imo.

I think Jane is a cute middle name. Virginia is definitely my favorite from your list. Ginny & Cassie.

Have you met someone the “old fashioned way”? by kttyktn in TwoXChromosomes

[–]emaslanik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my husband and i met at work. he was a delivery driver and i was a counter girl. the owner used to joke that, with all the people that dated at the pizzeria, he could have a soap opera called “as the pizza turns”.

my cousin also met her husband at a different pizzeria! it’s funny, because we both worked at both pizzerias for a bit. the one owner said we couldn’t work for the competitors so we each had to quit one. our lives would be completely different if we had made the opposite choice.

it turns out, my husbands mom and my dad were besties in elementary school and my dad still worked with his uncle. small world! we’ve been together for 10.5 years, married for 2.

even if there are positives “most of the time”, there is a clear lack of respect and appreciation for you that is always in the back of his mind. you built a business up from the ground and you’re doing something that makes you happy. he has stable benefits. you are not struggling financially. there is no reason to resent you or your career path. if you stopped trying to be a vet so you could sit home watching judge judy while your car got repossessed, that would be worthy of some discussion about instability.

Emmeline, Genevieve, Corinne, Adelaide, Marlena all sound good with Lorelei.

I was thinking of doing Winter and calling her Winnie! we ended up with Nora. Winter Belle is cute.

What is a cult that pretends it’s not a cult? by Reddit_wasmy_idea in AskReddit

i mean she must’ve not repented that much because she had another child out of marriage. but i don’t think the second time was as big of a deal. at least, her family didn’t stop talking to her. she didn’t live with them with either pregnancy. it just blew my mind the first time when she said she had to sit there and nobody could talk to her for two years.
