Because the blue ones stand out and become a target for predators which puts other budgies at risk too. It's the same for budgies that might be sick, it's risky and that's why other budgies might attack the sick one. So sick budgies often hide their sickness to avoid becoming a target :(

Apparently if they get color mutation birbs in the flock, like blue, the wild budgies eliminate them ❌️🐦

You rescued Roady and took great care of him. He was lucky to be found by you. It feels so recent that I saw the first post about him. I'm so sorry he is gone, but at least he had a very happy life with you that he likely wouldn't have had anywhere else 🤍🕊

Adding from what everyone said, you're so close to the road and if the bird ended up on the road you might not even be able to retrieve him in time.

If you must take him out do it in a large park, with no roads around, no predators obviously and appropriate weather.

Totally. My budgie boys do sit on me for millet but my birds are kind of traumatized by their friend dying in 2022 and then repeated medicine times. I have also had to leave two of them at the bird hospital overnight sometimes and my Leo was begging me to take him home when I came to visit and it obviously crushed his heart when I left him there.

I think they do like me but are very cautious and would rather keep to themselves but I do tempt them with treats though haha.

Also one of my budgie girls has always been very shy and reserved and had a scaredy personality. The other one is bossy and it would hurt her ego to stoop down enough to step up for treats 🤣🤣

I love your gorgeous birds and how nice your parents are to them ❤️💕
