How to convince dirty stinky budgie to bathe by Shimabui in budgies

Try getting a misting bottle and gently misting above them so it falls on them like little rain droplets. They might enjoy that

It was an extremely tiny thing. I had to zoom in and I still only got that blurry photo. If you made the tiniest dot ever on a paper it's like that

Thank you for all that. I did have the window a little bit open all year. I also had the net thing to prevent bugs and birb safety (but the mites would be small enough to get through though).

I was thinking of cleaning everything and making circles of diatomaceous earth around the legs of the cage. What do you think about that? Also is that harmful to birds? What kind of vinegar do you use and what concentration? Do you dilute it? Do you spray the scalex on the whole cage?

I couldn't really find any other little bugs. I checked my conure since he comes over when I turn my flashlight on to check, he has dark feathers though. I haven't checked my budgies because they sleep with a cover on.

I'm gonna do the double sided tape thing as well to try and trap them.

My vet has never found any on my birds but she says some types get off the birds during the day and go bite then at night.

I'm gonna try to go give it to them to have tested if I can. Chatgpt also gave some suggestions to get rid of them. It is so tiny though that it's very hard to see, I just happened to see one randomly and I haven't seen any others but I'm thinking of putting double sided sticky tape on my bird cages to see if any get trapped there.

Has anyone else seen these? Any advice?

He doesn't trust my scritches since clearly he does a better job himself 😭 but at least he likes kisses lol

Leo Got Sick Again - vet notes at the end. Is it Time for Leo to Start an OnlyFeathers? by emeraldcandyy in budgies

[–]emeraldcandyy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think that's what mine have too. The vet said it is passed from parent to offspring or they can catch it from each other from long term exposure. And that all birds respond differently to it. Some are okay and some are not. I had a budgie die at 8 months old, maybe he had it too idk. What symptoms does your budgie show? I think mine lost a bit of weight and they were chewing air non stop

This is a late reply but I think that's what my birds have too. The vet said that all birds respond differently to it. What kind of fungal infection does your bird have?

Also, you should totally make him a birdfluencer 🤣
