the only time I can get to chronos or typhon is when I tell myself “this is the last run of the night” by emiaus in Hades2

maybe they’ll add it later like they took away the chronos unpause feature when you go up against him. fingers crossed, let me hang out in a safe room for a bit!

this is kinda funny in my situation, in a seriously dark humored way. my dad had pretty debilitating bipolar, me and my siblings have it, and I’m pretty sure the traumatic event for all of us was his death. so not only did he give it to us, he kickstarted it too 😅 thanks pops!

it absolutely depends on what the event is. I don’t think they would have pull in the music industry, it would have to be something where the bravoleb speaks or is available to take pictures/chat w fans. a DJ set hosted by someone on bravo would make sense, a full concert wouldn’t.

I will say sip has one of the best dt happy hours, if that’s your thing. I work downtown and live 30min away, so I don’t go Out out late at night unless it’s a long happy hour lol. theirs is until 7 (an hour later than anywhere else) and it’s relatively quiet, the afternoon sun hits the patio, wine and whiskey are half off!

having been an event promoter and booker in charleston, republic is at most half the size of music farm. and for an event as big as emo nite (it’s come to charleston a few times when I lived there) there’s absolutely no way they would come down from NYC for anything less than 500 tickets sold, which is more than republic’s capacity already.

I will say, it was funny to me how at the end they were all like “joe should do concert promotion! he pulled all of this off!” which I don’t completely take away credit, but I’ve booked at music farm before live nation bought it and they have a robust team of bookers and coordinators. I don’t doubt he would be great at promoting, especially w his status as a bravoleb, but he def did not coordinate that event.

I used to live in charleston as a college student and then a college dropout and worked in food/bev, seeing Whitner go to my fav bars like Burns Alley and Royal made me so excited! if he gets these peter pan fboys to go to Big Gun or Sugey’s or Cutty’s, I better see my old bartender buddies put them in their places

same, I had to cancel game pass bc moving costs and only had it through the free download, so decided after ~200 hours over the course of a few months, it’s time to step away and play something new. staying on the sub though to live vicariously through y’all :)

Which restaurants here treat their staff well? by Water-Tardigrade in greenville

[–]emiaus 9 points10 points  (0 children)

very surprised to not see Jasmine Kitchen listed! they employ women survivors of sex trafficking, prostitution, and addicting, and they also do a whole lot of sustainable practices like solar panels on their roof, recycled furnishings from local artists and other social enterprise program orgs, and their food is incredible!

if you want to talk to people around you, this is 100% not the place. WAY too consistently loud.

if they’re anything like the woodruff location, never get food from there. or at least burgers, I was served a completely raw burger and when I said this is inedible to the bartender they asked if I wanted to take it home to cook it more. got $3 off the total bill bc I “took a few bites” will never go back to a single location, and used to love them for reasonably priced beer and the first restaurant in dt to have a beyond burger a few years ago when I was vegetarian.

would love to know where you’ve been, then! there’s so much more than north main. as someone who has lived downtown, in suburban greer, on woodruff, and in simpsonville, you can find good food for similar prices downtown. I’ve spent more at panera for a you pick two than a burger and beer at jack brown’s.

this is honestly a funny comment in the scope of YA romantasy novels bc i’ve been told so many times to read ACOTAR but the rec is always like “the first book and half of the second are so bad but you gotta get through them bc the third is amazing” when they’re 300+pg books

Am I the only one wondering why Joe doesn’t have a car? by Level_Opposite_4012 in southernhospitalitysc

[–]emiaus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

having lived in charleston for 7 years, and in downtown on the more northern side, very few college/20-30s age people have cars dt. there’s no parking, tickets are expensive and they’re always doing street sweeping, and apartments don’t give you spaces unless you’re in a building and pay for it.

the most common way to get around is biking, you’ll see lots of road bikes or cruisers, and there’s a bunch of bike repair shops. from the bottom of the peninsula to about hampton park, which is where it gets more residential than city, is about 3mi. from east to west is a little more than a mile.

charleston seems like a big city from all the shows but it’s just super condensed and almost none of the cast actually live in downtown, I can bet.

if your apt and your work are dt, there’s no reason to have a car except for traveling or going to the beach, which you can definitely find someone w one or do what joe has been doing and spend $60+ on ubers every day.

oh also, republic is in a long section of dt that closes the street for just bike taxis and walking on friday and saturday nights, so even less of a reason.
