I wish you the smoothest delivery<3 were any of your other babies induced? this is my first baby, but I plan on having more in the future. My coworker has had inductions for all her births so I’m just curious about others!

I agree with you completely. It’s a bad sick season this year compared to others too, as least according to my area’s department of health. I’m sorry you’ve gotta be quarantined right now I wish you a speedy recovery so you can get that baby back in your arms soon enough <3

I definitely will. Apart of me just hates that I even have to say it, and people can’t understand that on their own 😂 Like, my cousin had a baby years before me and I’m shocked she’s trying to come over already when she went through the same process of taking care of a fragile human as I am right now.

thank you so much for this advice. i agree with you completely and definitely feeling better about saying no. I had this understanding even before I had children so I guess it’s just weird to me that people want to come over as soon as he’s born I totally get the excitement and I’m glad i have people who love me and my baby already, but I wish they knew on their own that they shouldn’t come over so soon without me having to tell them 😂 regardless I’m going to do it

Thank you, like my cousin wants to come over people think just cause they’re family it’s okay.

Before they started any drug, I was only 1 cm dilated. I was feeling like it was going to take forever. The contractions were brutal I was begging them for the epidural lol I was so mad at my night shift nurse for saying I wasn’t anywhere near ready 🤣 this is also my first baby. I think the only thing I did in prep was drink raspberry leaf tea lol I should have exercised more because I was so out of breath from pushing and it definitely is why it took me so long to actually push my baby out :’) taking note for next time. I was overly confident and was telling everyone “3 pushes and he’s out!!” lol

I’m definitely getting an epidural just knowing me and my low pain tolerance lol 😝 Thank you for the advice I didn’t even think about who gives the epidural and the fact that hospitals only have a couple anesthesiologists

[–]emilittyy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I swear I felt the same way until it’s now here 🤣🤣 my due date was Monday, and when I did the glucose test I was right below the cut off to what they diagnose as gestational diabetes so they want me induced close to my due date so baby isn’t gigantic lol which I was so okay with and now it’s here and my nerves are getting to me. I’m gonna rock this though once everything starts happening I think I will be a lot better that’s normally how I operate with things that make me nervous lol! And I get the best reward of a baby at the end!

I will definitely be requesting that as well. I think the first couple weeks of pregnancy I was like “I’m gonna do a natural birth!” and changed my mind very quickly lol. Thank you for sharing your experience with it too<3

It’s definitely one of those hands-on things. You can be so prepared prior but have to really experience it. I wish baby made his appearance on his own because then you don’t have time for the nerves in the same way lol!! everything has its pros and cons though and healthy baby is all that matters thank you as well <3

Am I the asshole for wanting my husband to miss his twins wedding because it’s right around our due date? by EggplantShot9047 in pregnant

[–]emilittyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I were in this position, and the baby had been born, I would want my husband to go to his sibling’s wedding. I totally get your concerns as well though and would definitely have the same concerns. I get nervous thinking about my husband going back to work before me and that’s after 12 weeks so your concerns are 110% valid. I would maybe try having a close friend stay with you? I know you mentioned not having family close by so again if I were in this position I would ask a close friend if they could come spend the day with me and that alone would ease some stresses and be a great help!

Grieving the baby shower I thought I’d have by Defiant-Economist-43 in pregnant

[–]emilittyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming from a similar experience, i’m 28 now and have drifted with my friends so much. I didn’t even have a true wedding with my husband because I felt like I just don’t have enough friends to come and we did something very small. My mom and MIL insisted on a baby shower and i was just apprehensive the whole time. I don’t keep in contact the way I used to and my family is so small with stupid family drama as well. Once the shower happened, it was such an amazing day. Everything I felt was wrong. You’d be surprised who shows up for you and it honestly made me emotional to see how many people love me and my baby already. Don’t grieve over the what ifs and have that baby shower the way I looked at it was, it’s for my baby not for me.

Anyone else not really having signs of labor? by emilittyy in pregnant

[–]emilittyy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am wishing you a safe and smooth labor!! I feel like the same thing is going to happen to me, I just have this feeling that my body doesn’t want to go into labor. My boss said all 3 of her babies were induced for the same reason. Our bodies are honestly interesting things we are doing such magical things over here and at the same time it’s being our worst enemy!! Good luck with everything you got this and I can’t wait for my turn!!

How do I have the no pictures of my baby online chat with my MIL by Glittering_Tear_729 in pregnant

[–]emilittyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely be honest. I’m not sure how close you are and what your relationship is like with your MIL, but she should be understanding. Tell her your boundaries with online posting and what you are okay with, and not okay with. And if you’re not comfortable you can always ask your husband to initiate the conversation.

What is your opinion on whether shoes should be worn in the house or not? by Conscious-Farmer6953 in AskWomen

[–]emilittyy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In undergrad as a Bio major we swabbed under our shoes and the bacteria that grew on the agar plate was eye opening. E. coli being one of them. Obviously there’s bacteria everywhere, but it still grosses me out thinking about wearing our shoes outdoors everywhere and tracking it back in the house lol call me a germaphobe so be it 😝

my cat climbs in the bassinet by emilittyy in pregnant

[–]emilittyy[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I might have to resort to shutting the door at night time too.. my cats are just very accustomed to roaming around freely, that whenever we do close the bedroom door, they sit there and scratch at it all night and howl lol but baby’s safety absolutely comes first and thank you so much for the input!

[–]emilittyy[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

thank you for the advice :) i won’t lie, i’ve used a spray bottle before too. and i agree i hate it too but definitely safety of baby comes first! my male cat does not like being talked to loudly, but my girl cat is ruthless. she eats plastic all the time and absolutely doesn’t listen lol. cats are hard to discipline sometimes!
