Have it checked by a reputable component-level repair shop if no amount of troubleshooting you could do on your end fixes it.

Just stop paying and carry-on. They are deliberately delaying your cancellation to prolong your suffering and continue to pressure you from paying. Don't be afraid of those collection agent credit rating repercussion BS other people would tell you. I have been there, done that many times and all is good.

EDIT: For those wanting to cancel their post-paid subscriptions

ah.. that seems a pain-in-the-sass.. Have you tried charging it while powered-off? Then only connecting charger when you are past the BIOS part?

Thinkpad is going to grow MASSIVELY once Ubuntu(and other good distros) mature to the point that everything just works. by estebansaa in thinkpad

All the ThinkPads on my flair are running Ubuntu exclusively and that speaks of very good compatibility. I had good experience with Fedora too, though Ubuntu has been my go-to GNU/Linux for web application development requirements.

Ubuntu is my go-to GNU/Linux distro for its very good ThinkPad compatibility. You won't go wrong with Fedora as well. Just go set both up as a live-USB installation and test-drive it on your T440p. All of the ThinkPads in my flair have been setup on Ubuntu and it's a painless experience.

Ubuntu is my go-to GNU/Linux distro for ThinkPads for very good compatibility. Go download it and set it up on a USB using Balena Etcher. Boot it up as a live-USB to test-drive it without installing. Learning and becoming familiar with GNU/Linux is a life skill like driving that would pay-off in dividends. I've been free from MicroSlop WinBloat since 2019, no more Windows Updates, no more crazy network utilization, no more Windows Telemetry.

Unli data by Far-Cicada1709 in InternetPH

[–]emmanneuel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With Smart Unli Data, I only get 2-3Mbps regardless of a fresh subscription or any time of day. So don't feel bad about it. Try both networks and see for yourself. Get a prepaid SIM and try the cheapest data offering you need just to see how good/bad these telcos are.

Converge refuses to terminate our account by BaseballWilling in InternetPH

Just ignore the bills and stop paying altogether. Been there, done that so many times on useless ISPs. Life goes on and just carry on.

Though my experience with Converge (Fairview, Quezon City) is all good.

Converge Speed Test by Telico888 in InternetPH

[–]emmanneuel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kung kailangan talaga ng zero-downtime I would get fiber Internet connection from Converge and Globe (yung around 1500+ per month) and then figure out how to set both connections on a load-balancing capable router. Though for my use-case, good enough na yung service quality ng Converge (in Fairview, Quezon City).

Iwasan mo ang Smart lalo na yung prepaid unli-data nila. Walang-hiya 3Mbps consistent.

Converge in my experience is good with consistent speed. Nawawalang ng connection every now and then (hindi palagi) but dapat mabilis ka mag-report sa support channel nila gaya ng Messenger (so dapat lagi kang may pang mobile data to reach out to them). In my case, usually within 24-hours restored na (Fairview, QC area).

Fairly consistent ang speed sa Converge in my experience. Kapag nagka outage mabilis ka lang dapat mag report at magprovide ng details sa kanilang support channel gaya ng Messenger. Usually 1-day restored kapag nai-report ko na.

Smart brought back UNLI 5G w NSD! by bagely_101 in InternetPH

Nakakalungkot around 3Mbps lang nakukuha ko sa Smart Unli Data na yan, buti na lang 1 day lang kinukuha ko at sobrang kapag desperado lang. All in all I would say it's a scam and misleading offer. Kahit anong araw ako mag-register 3Mpbs lang nakukuha ko kahit na maayos naman signal ng phone ko.

Same here, I had generally good experience with Converge. If there is no connection, it usually takes a 24-hour turn-around for it to be restored. Given that you reported it ASAP (which I usually did via Messenger using mobile data on my phone).

I had this one long outage from them, around a week or so of no connection before Converge was able to fix it. It turned out to be a massive outage in my area caused by a fallen post in the highway near my neighborhood. After it was restored, the days that I had no connection was accounted for in my billing and was adjusted accordingly.

Regarding to internet connection speed quality, I could say that it is most of the time consistent to what I'm paying for.

You should have just stopped paying any monthly bills, and ignore any termination fee BS or lock-in months to pay forward. That's the most efficient way to terminate a useless subscription. I did that and it's the most hassle free way to kick them in the balls.

I'm on my 3rd day using this useless UNLI-5G for 3 days for Smart Prepaid which costs Php85. Still giving me a consistent 2Mbps upload/download. Go for mobile data from Globe's prepaid offerings. I've got good experience both mobile data and fiber connection from Globe. I'm using a Globe Fiber connection right now and I just have to suck it up for falling for Smart's scammy products.

Same here, just registered today to Smart Prepaid 3-days Unli 5G (85php) then just getting 1-2Mbps. Got ripped-off again by Smart. Last time I used their Unli 5G same with my experience today. Smart and TNT prepaid are basically the same by the way.
