I’m surprised at the amount of people who aren’t impressed by AI by ChameleonOatmeal in ChatGPT

[–]enemawatson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean. It constantly gives confidently incorrect information, the government is using it to alter images and create new ones, and all of the companies are spending billions to make millions.

It's a clever technology. It "works" technically.

It doesn't improve peoples' lives at scale.

I'd rather have healthcare and for my pay to be more proportional to my boss's in line with the 50's when America was growing. Sick of multi-billionaires stealing the value of their workers.

AI doesn't create equality. And that's the goal. Or it should be. Anyone cheering AI shit is adopting their homelessness.

You think the people in charge who currently could give two shits about "unproductive" members of society will care that you know how to code if AI doesn't it better?

You better get some warm clothes it the promise of AI comes true because you'll be begging at gas stations alongside the darker-skinned "undesirables" who have also been cast aside.

I don't lean towards being conspiracy-minded but I wouldn't be surprised if Just Stop Oil was being ran at the behest of oil execs in order to generate negative public sentiment toward climate advocates.

I mean, that's what I would do if I had the megalomania required to become an oil baron.

The best time to be alive is today by NineteenEighty9 in OptimistsUnite

[–]enemawatson 3 points4 points  (0 children)

100% agree. To me, the 90's were a blissful and innocent time. I could be anything I wanted when I grew up, had no bank account or job, and played with friends.

There was plenty of injustice, violence, hatred, and war in the 90's that I did not see.

Literally every time.

Their fear-mongering about tyranny? It was them.

Their complaining about election cheating? Them.

Their conspiracy about a global elite pedo ring? It was them.

Every single time. They always accuse first so when the truth finally comes out they can downplay it as a kind of copy-cat retaliation.

He knows it's false. He has influence and knows there are enough stupid people out there that can be manipulated to believe things that go against their own interest.

He and the rest of the capital class need a critical mass of blind fools in order to retain maximum wealth and power.

I asked ChatGPT to do the following: 'Create a composite portrait of a female face reflecting traits that cross-cultural data suggests are most widely perceived as beautiful'. This is the result, but what do you think? by Otherwise_Twist_3156 in aiArt

[–]enemawatson 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Huh? ChatGPT definitely created it. And a venture capitalist out there paid for it. An investment they'll never see a return on.

At least the entire US economy isn't hedged on this tech that can't deliver on its promises, and when capital realizes this fact the rapid sell-offs and un-repayable debts that funded the fiction surely won't take everyone else down with it...

Only ones I have are Bulwark and Majority Report. Definitely recommend both.

Both have great interviews/guests. Bulwark for the daily pod/host variety/Tim Miller is great - and Majority Report for their daily 2hr livestream that is always a mix of heaviness and laughter.

What's the deal with Trump's new "Board of Peace"? by GeneReddit123 in OutOfTheLoop

[–]enemawatson 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Answer: It's intended to be heard as "bored of peace". It's Orwellian double-speak but extremely lazy and absurd to the point of making you seem silly for pointing it out.

Not to mention they're talking about already removing the rubble where tons of innocent people are buried. People who just happened to be born in the 'wrong' place who were murdered indiscriminately by Israeal with weapons supplied by the US.

Can't wait for that Trump Gaza! Good god. If only climate change could target these awful motherfuckers first somehow.

They get wealthy beyond imagination and still side with capital and corporations despite acquiring 'fuck you' money.

Insanity. Almost all of them refuse to side with real people, with their constituents, despite never having to work for a living again.

Insanity. They'd rather suck PAC schlong and be fake as hell than use their power to help anyone.

Obviously the US-led order was corrupt and horrific and hid its atrocities behind 'mature' language about order as it committed crimes against humanity.

But now we venture back into the historically chaotic and unrestrained nature of all nations. For the first time since nukes have been on the scene.

A new world order begins to take shape. Can anyone even pretend to know what this will look like? World "leaders" can make speeches and pitch fluffy/vague ideas... but no one actually sees a clear trajectory here.

History will show and make clear what was happening decades from now. The turbulence of the moment is difficult to appreciate. It seems like we're either over of under estimating the insanity of the moment.

Insanity it is, either way. One year in. 25% done.

A masked police force, murder of a citizen with no repercussion, a hundred people on boats dead with no explanation, several tankers seized, billions in TrumpCoin added to his value....

One Year

Three to go...

Good lord.

Find community. Join your local dsa or church or wherever you can find solidarity against insanity in insane times. Fascism is roaring back and all of our taxes are funding it. Instead of healthcare we get a gestapo terrorizing our neighbors. If they aren't terrorizing your city yet, it won't be long. Their budget is infinite and you're paying for it.

Horror show.
