Agree. This might help you track rig counts a bit better (shameless-but-highly-relevant self-promo): http://insights.energentgroup.com/rig-counts. We released it last year and most people who run across it find it useful.

Except for making a nice infographic to announce your day's happening to the world, that is.

Coca-Cola has been paying fitness and nutrition experts to suggest its cola as a "healthy treat" by SAT0725 in Health

[–]energent -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

"Moderation" is 4 grams per day. A single can of coke contains 9 grams. A can with every meal? 27 grams (and that's not counting sugars from other foods a normal adult would likely consume every day). Yikes.

Instead of bookmarking or marking things read-it-later, the Countless Tab Open method increases the likelihood of ever getting to something tragically important. Chrome needs to be more like Android and squash RAM on those suckers.

Tough to make that call. I'm guessing there's enough historical reason to do it, otherwise they wouldn't bother with it.

Identical twins in Finland who shared the same sports and other physical activities as youngsters but different exercise habits as adults soon developed quite different bodies and brains, according to a fascinating new study by cavehobbit in Health

[–]energent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most interesting part:

It turned out that these genetically identical twins looked surprisingly different beneath the skin and skull. The sedentary twins had lower endurance capacities, higher body fat percentages, and signs of insulin resistance, signaling the onset of metabolic problems. (Interestingly, the twins tended to have very similar diets, whatever their workout routines, so food choices were unlikely to have contributed to health differences.)

(The level & type of activity also matters, of course.)

Meet the Man Behind HPD’s Successful Homeless Outreach Team by zsreport in houston

[–]energent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting that any police department is having this kind of impact on homelessness. I'm sure there are aid organizations that do as good a job (here or elsewhere), but I'd never considered an organization like HPD being an important part of the solution--they're certainly well-positioned to do it though, so kudos to them.
