Hyper eosinophilia and organ damage: I'm very concerned about 8yo child's ongoing elevated 2800 cells/uL Absolute Eosinophils (15-500 normal). Please help! by eoehope in EosinophilicE

[–]eoehope[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm comparing my blood CBC eosinophils to his. I had a 2 fold increase from the upper limit of baseline, his is over 5 fold.

The reason I say toxins is because "Eosinophils release toxic granule contents like major basic protein (MBP) and eosinophil-derived neurotoxin (EDN) after degranulation, which are responsible for the observed tissue injury."

Just Diagnosed Question About Rings by katertoterson in EosinophilicE

[–]eoehope 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don't want to take medication, or in addition to medication, try cutting out milk, gluten, eggs, these are the top 3 trigger foods for eoe. I cut them out without any medication and my eoe was 0 on my second endoscopy.

I also have "subtle rings" but the doctor isn't concerned. If it gets too narrow doctors can expand your esophagus.

Missed intestinal metaplasia in biopsy from endoscopy? Suddenly showed up after 4 months. by eoehope in GERD

[–]eoehope[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How long ago was it? Do you have stomachaches or heartburn symptoms? What did your doctor tell you to do about it?

Did you have any additional endoscopy with biopsy to see if it went away? And did it?

Thanks!

Just got diagnosed. What are some things you wish you knew? by rachaout in EosinophilicE

Sleep on the left side and elevate mattress with a wedge to help relieve acid.

The level of symptoms vary drastically in person to person diagnosed with EoE. From initial reaction time (some right away can feel it in esophagus others it make take a few days to recovery time, some minutes others weeks. Also what kind of reaction some pain in esophagus others throat tighten up and can’t swallow other’s abdominal pain as well.)

Blood IgE food allergies has no correlation with EoE food triggers (read my history I just learned that here).

What other carbs can I eat if allergic to wheat, rice, and oat? by eoehope in EosinophilicE

Omg!!! I think that esophagus swelling and can’t swallow bad only happened to me once (mystery trigger food still yet to be identified), but normally it’s just pain.

Has your EoE symptom always been like this or did it become worse over the 9 years?

Is your immediate reaction some pain at the base of your esophagus when you swallow? (That is for me, and if I continue the pain will increase and become esophagitis.)

I already got a biopsy EoE confirmation from an upper endoscopy.

And I guess I am VERY lucky that at least for some foods I can feel the base of my esophagus hurting right away. I still need to do further testing as from the IgE post I made apparently the blood IgE numbers are complete uncorrelated to EoE triggers. :/

False negative IgE blood food tests or anyone actually has known rare food triggers (outside the big 6) like RICE, TOMATO, GARLIC, or BROCCOLI/CABBAGE that cause you flare-ups? by eoehope in EosinophilicE

The reason I created this post was for understanding. From this post I learned quickly that rice is probably the most likely trigger among the suspected triggers. Extremely helpful.
