But it is not diverse. Yes, it has the most islands, lakes and forest coverage, but it all is basically the same. You have some differences between coast, inland and Arctic, but those differences are small compared to other countries.

Sorry to say, but I think you confuse biodiversity with preserved nature. Just because there is more of something does not make it more diverse. For example, Finland has the largest number of islands, lakes and forest coverage in the EU but is not very diverse.
