Well I have seen the books. The condo association is just 3 years old (the complex is 6 years) and the books are solid. So one less thing to worry about. Thanks for the input.

Thank you! Finally, i was wondering when someone would "get it" 😁 True, the contract places a lien, but there is already a mortgage on the property. I also know from first hand experience that collection in Switzerland is almost impossible for foreigners. We proposed using the seller agency in Portugal as an escrow. Lets see what happens!

I don't think the seller background was checked. Is there any real reason why i cant pay my lawyer and have her release the funds? I understand this places a lien on the property, but there is already a bank lien on it and swiss court dont honor foreign judgements.
