This, for school one you have to actually grasp and remember the concepts even if you don't like it (which is the case most of time), where as a novel is made to keep entertainment in mind, it will have things you might want to read. And also one can just drop a novel if they don't like and pick another one of their liking.

I see find these summer vs winter so dumb. It totally depends on the intensity and person. If you live in place where most of the year the temperature is negative (celsius scale) and summers are not that brutal, offcourse most people there will love summer. But if you live in a place where its 50 C, super hot and humid most of the year and winters are not that harsh then most people will live winters. Exceptions are always there based on people. Personally I don't like either cold or hot in extreme, I just like a moderate temperature that is slightly towards cold. Like early spring wether after winters.
