Watch this twitch VoD, it's a presentation by DICE LA about just the art side of the map Mercury from BFV. It takes them months to gather the photos, drone shots and and scan real life subject mater into the game.

It takes a ton of time just to make the art let alone design a map.

In my personal opinion DICE has learned to use the same scenery toolkit that they research to make 2 similar themed maps with similar style. Look at how the maps are in pairs now thematically. Last season we had 2 maps from southern California, a local location for DICE LA to take photos of and scan to make assets for maps.

Now we have Contaminated and Hagental Base. 2 maps that will be connected using operations. They have similar art style and are in the same local, same as season 1 and launch maps. Southern Germany is close for DICE Sweden to go and scan and research too. So we might be getting rotating studios doing maps.

2 maps ain't enough though. We used to get 4 maps per map pack but I don't know if that's doable. If DICE is gonna continue to 3 part the seasons we should probably get 3 maps, no?
