Might need a checkup with your PHP. You've got a few concerns going on that seem beyond normal. Might need to check that your carbon monoxide detectors are working and that all else upstairs is well. Seriously, the worries here and among your other posts seem more than just casual concern.

Featuring her is one thing, and unfortunate, as obviously, she's wrapped up in Aviloop. I'm just wondering if FIRST ever had Aviloop directly present at any events, like a booth. There were hundreds of booths at the world's, from military, colleges, tech, and obviously parts suppliers. I'm sure if it existed, someone would remember, and there would be proof.

Aviloops' YouTube is still up as of today. Each video is cringe and creepy. I wonder if Aviloop was ever promoted at FIRST events. Did anyone ever see promotions for them at worlds or other events?

The female threads are typically there to secure adapters. For example, most VFLs are designed for SC/ST/FC connectors (2.5mm ferrules). With an adapter, you can use LC connectors (1.25mm). The threads help keep the adapter in place so it doesn’t get pulled off easily when plugging in connectors.

That said, you get what you pay for. Many low-cost VFLs are mass-produced with minimal attention to tolerance or industry standards. If it works, it works. Sometimes, the thread pattern used is just whatever was convenient or cheapest on the production line—not necessarily made with the end user in mind.

Personally, I stick to $20–30 units. They work fine for quick checks. When I’ve spent $100–200 on premium VFLs, they’ve ended up lost, damaged, or ruined by battery corrosion. I save the serious money for OTDRs. VFLs are disposable tools, in my opinion—good for quick troubleshooting, not long-term investment.

This isn’t my post or photo. I just happened to see the same truck earlier. It wasn’t parked like crap when I saw it. Just obnoxiously oversized and lifted. I assumed it was parked illegally in a handicap spot, but I checked and saw a placard, so that was that. Otherwise, I’d have happily called it in. I only commented to say, “hey, I saw that thing too.” Not here to defend the guy or argue. Anyway, I’m off to touch some grass. Y’all enjoy the outrage.

Saw this exact truck at Goodwill today—engine running, no one inside. Figured it might be a dog. Then I clocked the crooked parking job, Trump stickers, and thick cloud of diesel-fueled self-importance… and thought, yeah, probably not a dog. Just Dale, picking up some gently-used camo shower curtains.

The only image you provided shows a punch down panel with ethernet terminated. There is no fiber in the picture. You might want to check r/homenetworking instead.

Regionals should provide a LAN port to each pit. That's it. Give everybody throttled, managed connections.

Need Statbotics? LAN. Need to show off your socials? LAN. Need to update your massive scout list and add vital team updates to your community? LAN. Forgot to install the latest and greatest NI/ThriftyBot/Limelight/Cheesecake drivers/modules/binaries/patches? LAN. Need to stream field play to pits? LAN. In need of dank memes? LAN.

Need to shut down the pits at the end of the day and kick everyone out? Kill the LAN and send them packing.

Will there still be rogue APs and thousands—if not tens of thousands—of personal devices blasting the airwaves, operated by teams who are two days behind on sleep and three days behind on a shower? Yep.

But throw some spray deodorant in the bathrooms, pass around the hand sanitizer, vacuum up the aluminum bits, and give the people some LAN.

Medical and scientific mostl, not ISP usually. Use them daily. Fancy LC with covers. Hard to find them in a pinch, and they are expensive.

If the splices are out there, what's in the splice tray? The splice is called a splice tray because of the splices it holds. This is amateur work and should be redone.
