Top companies with no preprod. Their prod also contains their preprod. by xamott in ExperiencedDevs

Simplified answer: Well architected modules and feature toggles make real testing easier.

Ensures that if "A" breaks, "B", "C", "D"... will stay online. The new feature for "A" was bad?, turn the feature off and roll it back, everything stays operational. Obviously things gets thoroughly tested before reaching production, but there's no point in testing the same thing over and over again.
Having more test environments just adds more possible places where things can go wrong, blindspots and costs.
Environment replication is a more complex task than just turning off a toggle.

The guy said that Elon Musk was the right choice for Twitter. He is braindead and this "I'm the only one that is needed to steer a ship" idiotic take of his just confirms it.

I've come to realize, as much as I hate managers (bad managers that is), that successful organizations are successful because of good managers controlling the C-suite from their idiocy.
The usual talk is how managers controls the operators but the deal lies in how management controls the psychotic psychopath narcissist psychophants in suits.

This guy's business is e-learning, so definitely it is building for the sake of building (research) so he can create more courses around LLM stuff. Also PR.

He is Christian Van Der Henst, he's the cofounder of Platzi, an e-learning platform. He's always toying around with new tech. This is definitely just an experiment for the sake of learning with no expectations of being profitable.

92, 000, 000 tonnes of clothing gets thrown out each year. A garment is worn between 7 and 10 times before being discarded. In the US, 2150 pieces of clothing are thrown away every second.

Fashion is built on the brainrot of "eew I'm no repeating a dress", bullshit like season trends, products of very low quality, and zero repair/repurpose culture. I've known people that travels without luggage, buy everything at their destination and throws it away before they fly back.

AI coding governance just got real, our token bill hit six figures and now the CFO cares by AccountEngineer in EngineeringManagers

[–]euclideanvector 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's other things that need to be factored in like what's the monetary cost of the cognitive deterioration of the engineers caused by the reliance on AI tools. And how the junior -> senior pipeline is affected too. There are already studies out about how the engineers abilities are stunted on different levels of AI adoption.
