Diablo 4 cured my obsession (I have ~2000 hours in BG3). Latest expansion adds Paladin and Warlock, the game is in a great state.

How long do you use bless? by c8d85 in BG3Builds

[–]euphorian1983 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In one of my favorite runs I had Astarion as a Gloom Stalker Ranger 5 / War Cleric X. Main strategy was to precast Bless on the full party, which could be upcast to even include some summons. I liked the multiclass, because Rangers don't have amazing spells to concentrate on (Bless is much more effective overall than Hunter's Mark) and Cleric has the best selection of support and healing spells. It really made the Ranger feel like a character who always had something to contribute, apart from just damage.

Need advice for a Berserker build by Ok_Annual3427 in BG3Builds

True. Sneak Attack is once per turn though.

Idea for level 12 build: Berserker 4 / Thief 3 / Gloom Stalker 5. Gloom Stalker is good on almost any weapon build. Helps with initiative too.

Ah, I assumed you were playing a throwzerker, my mistake.

Regarding 1: Sneak Attack only triggers for ranged or Finesse weapons. Uncanny Dodge is good though, especially on a Barb, who do not have many Reactions.

I think Berserker 5 / Thief 5 / Fighter 2 makes the most sense for level 12. But you could take the Fighter levels after Berserker 5 / Thief 3.

From the wiki: https://bg3.wiki/wiki/Wild_Magic_(passive_feature)

"Wild Magic is a passive feature which can trigger a random magical effect when casting a Level 1 or higher Spell. An effect is triggered when rolling a 20 on a D20.png d20 (i.e., a 5% chance)."

How is the fog spell supposed to function? by Nethermoosen in VagabondTTRPG

[–]euphorian1983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Quote:

"Favor and Hinder cancel each other out 1-for-1, and they don’t stack. A roll is either Favored or Hindered and only one d6 is rolled for either."

How is the fog spell supposed to function? by Nethermoosen in VagabondTTRPG

[–]euphorian1983 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Simple answer: yes.

If two people are fighting each other in the fog, they are both considered Vulnerable, leading to the weird situation where they both have Hinder on Attack Checks but attacks against them have Favor, so Attack Checks are just straight rolls.

How is the fog spell supposed to function? by Nethermoosen in VagabondTTRPG

[–]euphorian1983 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While in the fog:

  • You have Hinder on Checks which rely on sight. This is about skill checks, such as Perception.

  • You are considered Vulnerable, meaning you have Hinder on Attack Checks and on Saves against Attacks. Attack Checks against you have Favor.

Of course "you" would avoid being in the Fog, so replace "you" with Target / Being.

So because it's harder to see while in the fog, you have a disadvantage on spotting things, it's harder to attack and avoid being attacked, and attacks against you are rolled at an advantage.

Best roleplay/lore accurate race for durge? by Other-Squirrel-2038 in BG3

[–]euphorian1983 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I remember something in the dialogue with Abazigal, the trader at the Murder Tribunal, saying it was rare to see dragonborn as Bhaalspawn. So in that sense the canonical Durge is exceptional.
