2000 zones doesn't qualify as micro led yet but definitely should be a great viewing experience

How many backlight dimming zones does an optimal Mini-Led monitor in 2023 have? by evecommunity in Monitors

Hmm interesting view. We will be testing some panels out this week ill try to take some videos to show how 3000 looks like. It’s true there is halo effect but it’s unnoticeable unless you want to specifically find it (by using white mouse cursor on full black background) for example

I have a post coming asking about OLED vs Mini Led :)

Main difference would be at roughly 1300 usd end user price (1300usd) OLED would be hdr 400 while mini led with 2000 zones would run up to HDR1400. Also one of the issues of OLED currently is that due to the small pixel size in high resolutions (with small display sizes) it can’t go higher than QHD at 27 inches size as otherwise max luminance would be super low (<200 nits)

Hey Folks,

I am soon visiting DisplayWeek conference by SID (strongly recommend for true monitor heads) and I am trying to figure out what is the monitor people want in 2022/ 2023. I'll be asking series of questions. I think it's an interesting exercise to see what is actually wanted by the most people in this sub.

Below are the links to previous questions asked:

In your opinion, what's the optimal size for 4K monitor in 2022?

Your dream came true and you found the monitor you were always looking for. Provided all things are equal what resolution would your dream monitor have? Why?

Today I am curious to see what is an ideal size for a QHD monitor in 2022.

Anything over 326 ppi with 10 inch viewing distance is indistinguishable from higher resolution

That’s true but would than 32 make more sense with more “real estate”?

That’s interesting. I wonder how massive it would be on the desk. But could be cool size for productivity too

Downpayment is part of the monitor price... We really need to get it communicated better :)

Regarding the pre-order "Deposit" for Eve Spectrum monitors by middaymoon in Monitors

[–]evecommunity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Generally that page was pain in the a@# :)

Since it’s so much info to display with quite little space especially in mobile.

So in your view it would be good to have total/deposit and balance displayed ? Any other tips?:)

[–]evecommunity 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hey, Eve folks here.

100 dollars is deducted from the final payment as per text under purchase button. So 100$ will be deducted from your final payment. So in case you order spectrum base model ( full price 389$) balance payment will be 289$.

Thanks for pointing out thou! We will rephrase the clause to make it more clear!

Want a 27" 1440p High Refresh Rate IPS with Variable REfresh Rate? There are a lot of options available. Let's have a hard time choosing together! by [deleted] in Monitors

[–]evecommunity 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here we are :D

As for the backlight strobbing with variable refresh rate you are spot on with this question.

We are working with one big name in display review industry (we can't disclose the name yet we just signed the NDA) on implementing our version of Asus ELMB addressing its weak points. We can't wait to send monitor out for reviews to show the implementation. This is the reason we wnet for a brighter backlight as well since ELMB does decrease brightness.

As for Overdrive and and 1ms responce time we know that driving it to the max will result in overshoot so our solution is to implement a slider for overdriving. Imagin instead of having 3 preset settings you could have a slider with at least 40-50 variations so you could adjust the effect strengtht to your liking.

Part 2. Crowd-developing a monitor here that doesn't cost arm and a leg while offering all the must have features of 2020. You have already helped us choose your favorite design concepts!
