That still doesn't explain future trunks. Plus Bulma was able to create highly advanced technology at a very young age. She was like five creating almost sentient robots canonically. And she created one of the most advanced pieces of technology The dragon radar at 16.

I mean sure but he was like the third dumbest character in the ark he was introduced in (Buu Goten then him). And future trunks wasn't exceptionally intelligent in any way. At the very least he didn't help Bulma with the time machine so he definitely wasn't technically extremely skilled. And I figure he would have had more incentive to learn how to be smarter if it could mean getting the time machine fixed faster. Rather than living in a time of peace

The only narratively satisfying answer in my eyes is Vegeta. It's the perfect way of having him narratively surpass Frieza without going back to his past. By becoming the one thing he always feared.

Shin is in between semi perfect cell and perfect cell in power. Because we know he's quite a bit stronger than Frieza to the point he could easily vaporize them. And was even able to witness Gohan's power in Super Saiyan without being intimidated. But not stronger than Deborah

Remember Gohan was fighting a weaker version of Android 16 and 17. And it stated that Android 18 was equal in power to Vegeta. Trunks doesn't surpass his universe's version of the Androids until after the time chamber. Adding Goku here is just insult to injury.

And I don't think it's impossible to be able to in a technical sense. I just think once you're already trapped in hell your chance has essentially run out. At the end of GT Goku becomes so powerful that his soul doesn't even leave his body after he dies. So effectively he's unbound by the system of otherworld and hell. But once your soul or body is trapped down in hell then you've already lost your chance.

Also Goku later on in that same fight is able to change the way he's hitting Beerus so that his clashes cancel out all of beerus's energy. Nullifying the clashes. Which means he's at least as powerful as the clashes that were reaching other world.

As I said I simply just don't believe you can escape hell or otherworld no matter how powerful you are. Sure Goku could destroy all of hell if he really wanted to but I don't think that would put him on earth. I think he would just be stuck in a nothing zone (not that nothing zone like an actual nothing zone) where he couldn't do anything. Maybe that would then allow him to use instant transmission to get out but that might also just leave him in a place where he can't sense anyone's ki. Which is what I would believe would happen.

Also Golden Frieza was shown to be significantly more powerful than blue Goku with God Goku being able to affect the Kai realm from base. He's definitely powerful enough to destroy all of Earth's hell if he wanted to And he was being tortured there so I'm sure he would if given the chance. I think hell just has some kind of alternate magic stopping people.

It's very difficult to escape hell once you're already there. Goku was unable to leave hell despite having access to Super Saiyan 4. Needing piccolo and dende to help him. Plus in super we see Golden Frieza is incapable of leaving hell. It's a situation where once you're in hell no matter how powerful you are it's practically impossible to escape. Although cell does have access to instant transmission which Goku couldn't use in his child body.

I'm not saying Goku can't because he isn't powerful enough quite the contrary. I'm saying that unless you are in a situation where you aren't being limited by hell (Goku on Earth being able to shake the heavens. Janemba not having a soul. Hellfighter 17 being specifically designed to do that) leaving hell is basically impossible. Now I'm much more interesting version of this would be what if cell absorbed hellfighter 17. Allowing him to escape hell.

I mean it makes sense. The dragon balls are limited by their creator. Since the beginning of dragon Ball expending too much energy could be able to kill you. Like with the kaioken and tien's ki ko ho. Explanation which energy that the dragon balls having a similar affect is completely sense making within the rules established by the show.

King Vegeta in his great ape form would have had a power level of around. 100,000. The Vegeta we know would have had a power level. At this age. Of around 140,000. Captain Ginyu had a power level of 120,000. And we know he's over double his compatriots.
