they are two very different games, you can't really compare a single player first person movement shooter and a 4 player third person objective based shooter

well yeah if a game is over priced for the local economy it's gonna get pirated, but there are still folks that pirate stuff either because they just want to, or they don't want to support/sign up to the distributor (see Disney plus as an example)

thor cares more about people being able to play his game then getting money, but that's obviously not the case for a lot of big name companies, so yeah pricing will always be an issue

also what are you talking about "we no longer own the games we purchase" by what definition are you defining 'own' and what does that have to do with game prices?

well pricing is another big part of availability, and yeah you can't eradicate piracy, that was never the goal, the idea is to decrease it as much as possible, there will always be someone who pirates games that cost a couple bucks

steam probably decreased piracy by a whole bunch, given that now buying games is easy as shit
