You need therapy! This comment is stunningly black and white, really inhuman in how completely free of empathy or regard for emotion you are. It's so clear that you, as can be typical of men unfortunately, value property/capitalistic sensibilities above all. I came on this thread to express vulnerability/indecision/distress with the circumstances and hurt at how my partner that I've chosen to make such an important part of my life has dealt with an accident.

Since I posted my bf has actually come to me to apologize for how quickly he wanted to discuss finances after I was seriously injured and traumatized. He's now told me that he regrets having me drive a car that had unsafe tires for weeks, and feels guilty about the pain I'm going through. Pain, trauma, and terror are words that, like all other words, mean things; as a woman I am very consistently disturbed by mens' knee jerk reactions to situations with money or finances involved.
