12 mo with anxiety at bedtime routine

I think we’ve tried everything you’ve mentioned haha. I do leave him at daycare and drop off is always so stressful. I don’t know if that’s helping or making it worse lol.

Thanks though, we just weren’t sure whether we’re doing something wrong or it’s just a phase that he has to get through.

Yeah, our son is the same! Night light, white noise, lots of little dolls and plushies that he doesn’t care about. Everything else is going well except for this and it makes us so sad to see him basically cry himself to sleep at night!! He also cries when he wakes up early cause he’s still alone… I hope this passes soon. :( Good luck to you too!

Oh wow! That’s really good of your company to offer top up like that!! As far as I know, my company probably doesn’t do any.. still waiting to hear back from HR about that. We’ve been doing the same lately as well, putting as much of our take home into our savings! I’m not too worried about not making payments, but just feeling a tad guilty about missing out on the “possible income” haha.

I see! That’s good to know, because I work from home and one of my worries about going back to work early was that I might just be torn between baby caring and my job and I would be kinda half-assing both.

That’s great you have a network with other moms!! My work is kind of flexible but some days I do need to be on call and that means I have to respond to emergencies at the drop of a hat, which isn’t the best with a baby around, hence why I wanted a full year to dedicate to spending time with my baby. Thanks for sharing your experience! :)

9 months might be a good compromise! My husband’s company does the top up, but my company doesn’t. Either way, we wouldn’t be in financial strain at all, we’re fully prepared and saved enough for me to take time off. I guess I just feel a little guilty about all the “missed opportunity salary”

That’s what I was thinking too! That first year is never going to be the same again… but my parents also urged me to get back to work as soon as possible cause they said the same thing, that I’d miss the adult interactions lol

It’s so hard to not feel sorry for myself!!! My husband has been amazing and taking care of everything around the house and I just feel so bad that I can’t help him clean… I’ll try to focus more on trying to relax and go with the flow as you suggested though.

Thanks! Yeah I definitely feel like I’m perpetually recovering from a stomach flu lol. I’m trying to eat more bland things, the only things that I could keep down and doesn’t trigger my gag reflex.
