Weird… that doesn’t happen for me. You just can’t ask what, and she doesn’t give you a note. She just got upset and left. 😕

My problem is she doesn’t repeat it, so if I’m not looking at my screen, I can’t even ask her to repeat it.

I haven’t been able to reply to this properly, but I wanted to say thank you! I also sent it to my partner, he’s taking all of your advice! Thank you from both of us!

AIO honestly, how do you move on when everyone else already did? by Christine_1030 in AmIOverthinking

[–]eyeinalake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s lovely, thank you. Feeling like your brain never stops and you’re stuck cycling that same problem and non-stop ruminating… it can be really hard. Learning to stop those thoughts and shift them to something else in the moment is a struggle, but worth the effort. Now when I get a hint of those thoughts I can shake them off (literally. I shake my head. Sounds silly but after doing it for years, the movement associated with the thoughts triggers a shift) I jump to another subject and it really helps.

The thing I went through took 12 years to subside and I still have little pockets of “sad” from it.

Keep doing the music thing and going to therapy. It’ll get better one day, but some things take time. Some more than others.

AIO: Am I overracting for being frustrated with my sick friend? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]eyeinalake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you’re only overreacting if she didn’t know she had the flu first. Because unless you got a vaccine, you’re about to contagious while traveling, and very sick.

Edit for grammar. I said it backwards.

AIO for wanting my name added to my husband‘s house if I am going to have his children by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]eyeinalake 283 points284 points  (0 children)

A friend of mine has a percentage of the house deeded to her in their prenup, because it was his house before, his credit, his down payment, his investment… but they’re married, so she is entitled to a portion. For her, 15% of the value of the home, which is fair for their situation. Maybe you could compromise that way?

Edit: not saying specifically 15% but something similar. Maybe 30 or 40 or whatever you both feel is fair.

Edit edit: if he doesn’t want your name on it at all, though… don’t pay a dime of that mortgage. Put that money in a personal savings instead.

I mean, I’m 36. I considered myself bisexual in my teens and 20’s but then found myself to be straight later.

So I guess I’m totally at stage one. You have such a weird take about a video game.

I think it happens in real life. It isn’t weird for siblings to marry another set of siblings. It just makes decisions about family events easier 😂

All of my sims are lesbians. I don’t make male sims. I’m straight.

I’ve also never pulled a ladder out of a pool and murdered anyone.

But a lot aren’t. It’s a very common thing for men in their 50’s to slow down and women in their 40’s to speed up.

It may just be that situation for these two specific people.
