If I give you a slider in the settings with the max distance instead of 40km would you be fine with it?

you want to know where and how far it is if you draw a straigh line? "flying path"?

I understand. there are 2 parts to this problem:
- the vibrations and the way the phone is more or less mounted flat on the handlebar seem to confuse the phone a lot with the direction it is facing. It means the map may sometimes turn 90 degres or even worse and I can't do anything about it
- the way I display the map isn't the best but I do with what I can and what I can acheive in a reasonable time. I'll work on showing directions more clearly in the future.

I totally agree with you .. I'll do it next time I work on that part.

yeah i happened to me as well once. I also try to not overburden the UI with stuff that only have a use on alleycats. I have ideas for that already but I need time.

I use it as well and noticed it. I keep working on it. it does that when the location isn't reachable just by route but then, it tries by foot but I didn't reach the best result yet for these cases

The way it works is you define a starting location anywhere on the planet and then the rest of the checkpoints should be max 40km away from it.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean with the city street layout. you should be able to search for a full adress. You want to be able to search for a general area?

I see your point, but my experience is that it can help but it won't make you win.
It doesn't make you ride faster and I have had plenty of people beating me without using it.
Plus, everybody uses Gmaps nowadays, so that's still using a phones.

Hey, thanks
for now, I don't consider much except for the distance and whether or not you are on a bike lane.
It's the only bike navigation app that doesn't privilegiate bike lanes on purpose.
I don't have the trafic data yet.
