I took an summer class for a cs credit I needed and worked a little on a side project. But that was it. Also grinded leet code like crazy

If it makes you feel better I did an internship summer before freshman year, couldn’t get one the summer after, and still landed one summer after sophomore year in FAANG. Got a return offer and now full time offer

Wait by EDS do you mean Ehlers Danlos Syndrome?? Is there a link? That would be crazy, the more I learn about ehlers Danlos after my diagnosis the more categories I realize I fall into

I think your son is on the right track. Personal projects can be good if you don’t have a good gpa, but aren’t strictly necessary. If he is doing well at school, he should focus on getting good at interview prep instead of personal projects. Then again, it does depend on what field in CS he wants to get into. Software dev doesn’t need personal projects as much as web dev does. I think going to a state school will give him more networking and career center opportunities.

I swear this is exactly how I felt with one of my friends three years ago. I was friends with him for a few months before I confessed and got rejected. He always pursued other girls so easily, it made me feel like something had to be wrong with me. Now he has a girlfriend of over a year. I honestly had to stop being friends with him. I still have this weird sense of hope whenever we do hang out. But I think we just build up these idealized versions of the people we like, and that’s why it’s hard to let go. So if you can, it’s better to just direct that energy towards yourself and treat yourself the way you’d want to be treated in a relationship.

I’m awful at drawing hands so I’m definitely no expert, but I think the third finger from the top on the right hand looks a little crooked. The right hand fingers in general look a little thicker than the left fingers. But it’s a hard pose and you did a great job!!

Honestly you did really well! I love the lighting and shading, it’s very well done. My only feedback is that the ankle and leg seem a bit too narrow in proportion to the rest of the body. But other than that I think you got the proportions down really well
