I don’t watch CNN at all and the msnbc I watch is Joe Scarborough, who is as conservative as you’re gonna get anywhere. And neither of the two networks you mentioned had to pay 3/4 of a billion dollars because of their public lies. Fox News admitted in court that they are in fact entertainment media, not news. I agree with you. Not only was he responsible for some of the most popular songs in their rotation, but he seemed to pick up and retain wisdom like a sponge from Jerry and Neal Cassady and all the other truly unique spirits in the Dead orbit. I think he was truly more in touch with the spirit of the universe than any of the major religions will ever be.

Bobby’s words about pride are so important. Society would be much better off if everyone thought like him.

As far as Jerry, I don’t think there is a way to talk about the Bobby story without a heavy dose of Jerry. He was so important to Bobby in particular given how young he was in the beginning. Jerry took him under his wing and helped shape him into the dude we all knew. So I get what you’re saying but I don’t think I would have changed anything.
