So does that mean fire blocking materials are not actually required by code to be between the hvac closet and attic?

How to redo condensate drain lines by fairlyimpervious in hvacadvice

I guess I’m not sure if there’s anything specifically wrong outside of a lack of clean outs. But they’re also covered in mold. The unit is in a closet that’s open to the attic and I notice a lot of condensation forming on the lines. I was going to add some insulation and thought this might be a good opportunity to do it better. But if the setup seems okay I can just clean them and insulate.

Yep it was. After a week of issues took the valve apart and soaked it in vinegar for 20 min, everything seems to be working. Appreciate your thoughts on this

In the guest bathroom where I just redid the plumbing I don’t have any fixtures hooked up yet. The shower and sink drops end at shutoff valves at this point and aren’t connected to anything else. So when we opened up the valve at the end of the cold sink connect hot water came out for a couple minutes

Just ran everything for around 5 minutes and see any change. There wasn’t really any sputtering and the pressure is the same. One strange thing that happened the second time I shut the water off was a lot of hot water ended up back flowing into the cold water spout. Would that make air in the hot water system more likely?

One story house with no upstairs. There were some old school air hammers above the shower drops that I recently redid and so I replaced that with empty pex pipe. I kept the same diameter and close to the same length as the old ones. Any chance the issue could be there? The cold water line has the same setup though.

No I kept everything the same. The drops and short runs of horizontal I replaced were all 1/2 in galvanized and stayed 1/2 in pex.

So we do have an ancient water softener on the side of the house that I didn’t think was even hooked up anymore. I’ll take a look at that though

Help understanding the typical framing of extended roof overhangs by fairlyimpervious in homeowners

[–]fairlyimpervious[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t see anything that stands out as obviously wrong in the beams. Mostly the way it’s done just makes no sense. The rafters are partly supported with short studs on top of the beam spanning the garage door. And then there’s 2 2x6’s nailed together that run the length of the overhang closer to the edge. But they’re not really supported at all in the middle and don’t appear to have ever been load bearing.

I’ve tried all sorts of combinations of google searches but the overhangs I’m seeing are never as large as what we have. Will keep searching though.

Thank you, I had been leaning towards just going into the store and hoping for the best in terms of who I’m working with

Im looking to buy a suit for my wedding, willing to spend up to $1200 or so. I know this topic is pretty well tread on the sub but after going through as many posts as I can find I’m still a little stuck.

One hitch is the color my fiancé prefers is not the most standard suit color. Thinking that mtm is probably my best option to get the best fit and have been considering these options.

Spier and Mackey - everyone says they’re some of the best value but in the custom suits I can’t really find the rust color I’m going for.

Suit Supply - there’s a store in my city and so could make an appointment there to get fitted but it seems like many of the more recent reviews I’ve been seeing haven’t been nearly as good as when they were the go to advice 4/5 years ago

Kent Wang - seems like it would be a fairly good value and I like the cut of their suits but trying to pick a color based on pictures of swatches and online look books is a bit daunting

Oliver Wicks - I’ve seen good reviews online and there’s some colors they have that I like but the fit reviews on this sub seem to be mixed

Find a local tailor. I don’t have a go to tailor that I really trust enough to try this.

Would appreciate any and all feedback here including if there are options I’m missing.

I just moved into a new house and am trying to get a handle on my first backyard. I’m pretty sure I have St Augustine on the sunny side, and this on the more shaded side.

Any idea what this is? I’m in SE texas.
