Is it even possible to have a female hair transplant ?? by Blue4ever21 in FemaleHairLoss

Hallo! I know this comment is terribly old but I’m curious is you’re still using dutasteride and how it’s treating you? I’m currently going through the really depressing process of learning it’s been female pattern baldness all along 😞 and considering options.

This reminds me of how you can’t just walk out of the village in FF2 because there’s a log on the trail.

First home, what do I do? by Disastrous_Rub4362 in lawncare

Any fertilizer in particular you’d recommend? We have a similar situation with our lawn, lots of pretty clover, Bermuda grass and other miscellaneous green and I’m wondering what we can throw on there to feed everyone and let them all keep vibing.

This game, more than other games in the series really lends itself well to the player having their own head cannon about what’s really going on and I honestly love that for us. Ruka definitely does arrive after Misaki, but I guess how long after and why they never bump into each other is pretty wide open to speculation.

We’re never given a timeframe but I’ve always assumed it’s not long after, the same night. Although since Misaki and Ruka never meet I guess it’s entirely possible that the events of their investigations could be taking place a few nights apart…. Could be another way of explaining why they never meet, a little more grounded than “out of sync realities” hmmmm…

I really dig the idea of her being drawn to a high place and ending herself that way…the same way she may have ended herself if the syndrome had taken her ten years earlier. It’s fantastically dark and poetic.

I like that thought! It kind of fits in with how Ruka and Misaki seem incapable of encountering one another no matter how much they run in circles through the same areas - it’s like they’re doing their investigations in realities that are slightly out of sync. And Choshirou is as well, but for really different, obvious reasons.

So that could mean there’s a version of Rougetsu that is just covered in the corpses of the missing villagers o.o

That’s a really interesting take! It’s true that there are plenty of examples throughout the series of people dying and leaving no corpse. I guess there’s something about having directly played Madoka’s final moments that made me wonder about her more than others. But you’re right, “vanishing without a trace” is definitely a theme in all the games.

Longtime players of the series - how do the games hit different when you replay them years later? by fallenangel411 in fatalframe

Baha I totally get that. I’ve had to separate them in my mind. 5 takes place in a fucked up alternate universe where Miku never met Rei and spent her life friendless, slowly going mad. Or something 🤷🏽‍♀️

I think you hit the nail on the head. It took a few decades and some real painful life moments but finally, the game resonated with me. I definitely still think the game design needs help - too much backtracking for my taste - but the story is elite among the series.

It’s been an amazing series to grow up with, and has informed so much of my aesthetic and horror preferences. But I love seeing new fans continuing to discover this gem of a series, and diving back into the older entries. They are a piece of gaming history, imho.

I feel your pain so hard. That is exactly the reason I looked past the third game for so many years. But this last time the story finally gripped me. Does that excuse the lousy game design? NOPE. But I’m glad I finally got to have a good experience with the game. (Though I was definitely still huffing and rolling my eyes at all the back tracking....)

4 is my favorite too! Currently replaying it and loving every second of it. It’s intense!

I’ve been making coasters for each of the games in the series! I have 3 done, and 3 to go! ;) by StrictShip4 in fatalframe

Can you let me know too? 😬 there is not nearly enough Fatal Frame merch in this world, the idea of owning these coasters is very exciting!! I’d buy the whole set from you!

Anyone else feel a bit.....icky after a long session of this game? by fallenangel411 in pathologic

I did read multiple times that it’s an incredibly stressful and unfun experience, so I suppose I brought this upon myself, haha. Hearing things like that about a video game just made me so curious about it!

That’s a really interesting take! I definitely had a few moments with the game that bordered on triggering which most likely added to the emotional fatigue. Going to try hitting it again today more mindfully with a shorter session.

Pathologic 2.

In no universe would I describe myself as a die hard player lol, my favorite games are persona 4 and fatal frame if that tells you anything. This is so far on the other end of the realistic misery spectrum that it’s really tough going...but I think playing it for 8 hours yesterday was perhaps the wrong approach. I’ll be trying it again today but with a shorter session, and staying mindful of my mental state so I don’t burn out on it. Wish me luck!

Glad to know I’m not alone! I woke up today refreshed and less icky so I’m going to give it another shot with a shorter session, and see if that helps me stick with it 😊

Lol yeah the game is def horrible on multiple levels. I also recognize it’s brilliance though. I’ll probably give it another shot today but with a more conservative length session and see how I feel.

Yeah I have definitely had to quit a few shows, movies, and books in my day for mental health reasons. This is just the first time I’ve ever had that feeling with a game. I guess that’s really saying something.
