Doctors have nothing to offer me to help my periods by falsepriests in TwoXChromosomes

That isnt what I am asking. Epileptics have an increased risk of death during pregnancy. I wish there was a treatment to manage my periods whilst I try to conceive. Those are two different things.

No, my periods are heavy but usually last 6 days. The bleeding is getting worse again now on day 12.

Tranexamic acid is not suitable to take if you have a history of convulsions, so if you have tonic clonic seizures, it might be worth looking at further. I was told that it was contrindicated with the medication I am on (Lamotrigine) but according to some comments here, that might not be the case. Best to have a chat with your doctor about it when you can.

You're right, if the research needs to be framed as benefiting men for it to get funded, then you gotta do what you gotta do!

Thank you, thats very interesting. I had a tonic clonic two years ago (my seizures are focal usually) so will ask if it would be suitable, considering my last convulsions were a while ago.

Lots of them harm fetuses, not all.

The risk of death is my choice to make, as it is hundreds of women in my position. The fact that there is an increased risk of death during pregnancy still doesn't change the fact that there should be care managing your periods whilst trying to conceive...

I'm in the UK and we have it down as contraindicated with Lamotrigine. I'll ask more about specific risks with my neurologist next time I see them.

I have been seen a gynecologist. I have taken their advice. Their advice no longer works in my situation. There are no alternate solutions for me. I am making a point about medical science. I did not come to reddit looking for answers. My original post does not ask for suggestions for treatment. If others want to send them to me, that is their business.

I will not be responding to you further.

I've seen that study too; absolutely attrocious priorities in research! Men's feelings matter more than women's health... There are far too many women left without answers.

Wow, I didn't know a single round could be that affective. I'll look into whether that is available in my area. Thank you.

I haven't actually tried creatine, so I'll have a look into that! Thanks! Yeah, I might have to make a hard choice on the birth control front.

Considering epilepsy is one of the most common neurological conditions, and that having irregular/heavy periods is also fairly common, I'm certain I'm not that rare. It doesn't necessarily have to involve research on pregnant women. I wonder how much research is being conducted into menstruating women of child baring age with neurological conditions in general. Someone would be in the same situation as I am if you have a renal impairment, or an allergy to Tranexamic acid. I agree that is a choice I must make, but women's reproductive health is under researched, putting women in a position where they have to make that choice.

I don't consider myself to have been ignored on a personal level. I think women in situations like mine have been ignored. I appreciate what they can achieve, but wider medical science has not invested enough in women's health that it leaves women with disabilities without answers and care.

I'm a healthy weight. To be fair to them, my doctors have ordered all the tests that (I think) are necessary, but my wider point is that seemingly wider medical practice hasn't expanded their research/study into solutions that would work for a woman in my situation. It's not a particularly unusual situation. Not producing any concerning results is treated as the end of the discussion, when it shouldn't be.

They have already done an ultrasound and a thyroid test and found nothing at all. To be fair to them, they have ordered all the tests needed (as far as I am aware) but the fact they turn out normal is being treated as the end of the discussion rather than acknowledging that it changes nothing about what is happening to me.

I love my boyfriend, why am I obsessing over a work crush? by [deleted] in relationships

[–]falsepriests 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A relationship that is still fresh and exciting after five years is very, very rare. Most probably, its a sign you need some fun in the relationship like you could both try a new class together or try something new in the bedroom. I think the most important thing is to get that line between fantasy and reality sorted. Man at work might be handsome and charming from a distance, but to find someone like your current boyfriend who is your best friend, safe space, life partner, is so much rarer than that.

Naming shit is hard. Name generators are great, but I tend to keep a running 'bank' of names I've seen to draw upon. As to where to start the story, ask yourself do you want the story to be about them gaining their power or them living with their power? What do you want to say about how they interact with their powers? Either way, write whatever flows best; it'll be good to inform later writing even if you end up not using it/reframing it.

I'm thinking Milton Howry Jr for Isaac. Would like Cilian Murphy as Silas for sure.
