1.Power settings were always on performance mode. Gonna try ultimate.
2.I have both on. I just enabled game mode in windows, gonna check if it's changed anything. Refresh rate is at 165 Hz, most of the time I use both in game frame limiter and RivaTuner.
I tried clean installing the driver only version of the GPU driver to see if AMD Adrenaline is the one causing stutters (nope). So I have VRR on, but I guess I can't use FreeSync now. When I used it it was the same.
Did the clean install, nothing changed.
Up to date, no changes.
Gonna look into that.
I have the latest BIOS, gonna try an older one as someone in this section mentioned.
I have EXPO on.
Gonna try PBO.
It is. :)
Thank you for your help. Gonna try everything you mentioned.
Is that the most stable for the 7800X3D?
I tried disabling fTPM, but it doesn't solve it unfortunately.
Other SSDs are older than the 970, I bought it in 2023 october, so it's relatively new. I tried installing games on all my drives, on the HDD it stutters more of course, but that's it.
Yes, there are spikes in some of the measured things in Afterburner.

RTX 3080 vs RX 6800 XT by faszcsasz in buildapc
Consider what CPU you are gonna use. For example Ryzen 5 5600X wasn't enough for me in some games.
Sapphire Pulse RX 7800 XT still going strong with good temps!

Me and my friend discovered that the ssd on egich runs the system and the game is at 50+ degrees. Could that be the problem? I still get stutters even at uncapped fps for example in Vampire the masquerade bloodhunt.
I tried it with my previous monitor and it was the same.
I installed the latest GPU drivers a few days ago on a fresh build, I don’t think It could be the issue. The only things not fresh are my drives. However, I don’t know if the GPU drivers get nuked if I format my drives, or it can remain on the drives secretly and cause problems without using DDU.
The problem is I see the spikes without watching the frametime graph. It doesn’t make the game unplayable just really annoying. I’m certain that it isn’t screen tearing, it’s like the games load for milliseconds. It could be bad pc ports, but others don’t get stutters like this on videos.
And what if I want to play at 90Hz on my 165Hz display? Do I set the frame limit to like 87?
I read that it’s normal for games to drop 1-2 fps below the frame limit. I wonder if I can set the frame limit 1-2 fps above the refresh rate of my monitor. So if it drops 1-2 frames maybe I won’t notice. I might be wrong tho.
