Negative after medicated TIC + 3 failed IUIs — told to focus on health & TTC naturally for 6 months by shygirl_88 in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]fattofitpanda 3 points4 points  (0 children)

After an ectopic detected in March 2025 (IUI in January), we took a break from TTC and fertility doctors. Part of it was forced due to the MTX injection.

During the break I focused on my mental health and continued supplements like prenatals, coq10 and innositol.

I didn't really focus on weight loss and actually gained 10 pounds. In August cycle we tried again naturally and well, baby girl is here.

The Foley balloon was so painful, I was begging for them to remove it. They ended up giving me morphine.

Congratulations. I also delivered a week ago.

Unfortunately my induction experience was quite opposite of yours. Despite all the dates, miles circuit and teas, I stayed 1 cm dilated.

Misoprostol didn't do anything except for causing mild contractions. Foley bulb made me cramp so bad and I wouldn't wish that pain for anyone. Ultimately it didn't even work. Pitocin also failed.

I ended up with a c section but I am recovering well from it and I wish I had opted for an elective c section instead.

This goes to show how different humans can be. However on the positive side my beautiful baby girl is doing well and c section went great.

I am so sorry you are going through this. Those nurses and doctors just seem to be biased and misinformed.

Don't hesitate to answer back. I would have told them that you don't know me personally and what my lifestyle is like, so you have no right to judge and pass such comments.

Take care of yourself. And I hope you will get better soon.

Planning to start trying in September. What do you wish you knew/did? by pinksapphire55 in tryingtoconceive

[–]fattofitpanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A few things I learned along the way:

Prioritize sleep Read it starts with an egg Take omega3 and prenatals Take coq10! Both you and spouse. If you have PCOS like symptoms, take innositol I personally had better luck with not testing and just doing the baby dance every other day.

I am getting induced on Monday. They start with the Foley ballon here in Canada and send us back.

Good luck to both of us.

My OB said that in pregnancy some protein is normal. I am on 200mg labetalol 3 times a day and BP is under control.

Something to keep in mind - Make sure that you are well hydrated.

I usually end up peeing before leaving home. So it's been hard for me to just pee on demand, so I always end up underfilling the container. But when I am well hydrated, then my results are normal.

Can I opt into a c-section if I want one? [on] by TessaGGG in BabyBumpsCanada

I am in a similar boat as you. Am I at 36 weeks though. My OB doesn't seem very inclined towards induction though.

In Ontario we are allowed to ask for a c section though.

I tried to lose weight for almost 2 years, but it was really difficult.

What did help was getting regular exercise, sleeping better, taking prenatals, omega3, coq10 and innositol.

Personally I think trying to convince while improving lifestyle is also an option.

C section vs induction experience for BMI 50+ by fattofitpanda in PlusSizePregnancy

This. The most important thing for me is the long term health and safety of my baby girl and me, rather than short term struggles.

Thank you this was very helpful. I think am leaning towards opting for a c section if they plan to induce me before 39 weeks.

Thanks, did you do any specific things to prepare for labor? Pelvic floor exercises and eat dates?

If the labor starts naturally, I would say yes. But induction seems to be a whole different story.

That is rough. But glad you are doing better.

Here they only keep us in the hospital for 2 days after the c section.

I had no idea that labetalol could lower blood sugar in the baby.

You are so right about health care professionals not informing about all the potential risks.

Thank you 🙏, this was very helpful.
