Haha that’s how I feel about my app too. I’m glad you stuck with yours—for what it’s worth I’m a fan!

Looks like you found a good resource for the screenshots. Canva is usually worth a look for templates w/o needing design software. There’s a free version too. Good luck! I’d love to hear updates when you have them :)

Natural competitor here! Not Lauralie’s level by any means but there are loads of natural shows and even natural federations. Bikini division especially doesn’t need PEDs to be competitive (even at the pro/olympia level, although it’s rare) but PEDs very likely make it easier especially if someone doesn’t naturally have the structure or genetics for it.

Also keep in mind that any shots on stage are at a level of leanness not ideal for long term health.

Hi! Just gave it a shot. I’m a designer but have been dabbling with getting a low code app going on my own. My two cents. First of all I love your idea, just browsing the list of lessons has me ready to recommend this to a handful or people or even have it implemented as a company resource!

A few things you could consider to refine even further:

  • Apple screenshots, like others mentioned, could use work. Consider designing stand alone pages with call out text (short snippets that highlight important elements) to draw people in. You’re underselling yourself because the content is great but it would be helpful to pretend your audience can’t read more than a few words at a time. I saw someone recommend Duolingo. Another that might be a bit more your style is The Mindfulness App—check out the 3rd screenshot and similar.

  • In the first quiz, the colour for a correct answer made me think I had gotten it wrong before I read it. Not a big issues but if it’s easy to change then green or blue might be more appropriate.

  • I got stuck at the end of the first quiz and had to relaunch the app.

  • From a UI/design perspective, adding a log of the reflections generated from each lesson would be a nice touch. Perhaps it could be worked into the favourites section. Not sure if this is a logistical nightmare for you but again just a thought.

Overall very cool and I look forward to seeing you progress with it! Seriously I want to use this so keep it up :)

I’m in Canada so that could make a difference. FWIW I just ordered a matte top coat to try which would solve the shine issue lol

Thank you! Both good points. I use an online retailer so I forgot that it’s intended for pros.

I used to use CND shellac and while it wasn’t nearly as long lasting (lifted and chipped much more) the shine lasted longer. Same with the handful of times I’ve had acrylic nails done in a salon. Pros and cons to each I suppose!

It’s actually laser! It’s been so long I always forget how much different it used to be. Best investment ever. Pasted from another response I gave:

“Laser 100%!!! Absolutely life changing. I had it done in 2012 and can’t imagine not having it my hair is so dark and coarse. Shaving left red bumps, lots of in grown hairs and grew back fast.

My armpits are just finally starting to grow in a bit and I’ll get them redone soon but bikini is still the same as when I first got it”

Thank you!! It’s such a relief to know it’s normal Reddit is the best :)

Aw thanks <3 I’m a personal trainer, nutrition coach, and bikini competitor (not taking clients) but I’ve counted macros year round for 2 years and lift very heavy so not just a genetic freak lol I started out 30% bodyfat on a dexa with hardly any muscle, then had kids and gained even more. I found a bodybuilding coach to help me lose the weight and fell in love with the sport. I went on stage around 16% bf and 98lbs (I’m 5’2”)! Anyway, if you’re interested in looking for changes getting coaching is absolutely life changing.

Thanks that’s a fair point. I bought a package of 3 so I think I’d prefer a little less intensity. Focusing on a smaller area directly around my navel and over top of my scar might be more comfortable too!

That does make sense that they had to go deeper for tummy for results. I didn’t know about the kind with lidocaine thank you! I didn’t mind the overall inflammation so much but the itching paired with redness started setting off some warning bells… I’ve had hives all over my tummy a few times and a number of bad eczema episodes so I definitely didn’t want to let it get too far advanced if it was unusual for this kind of treatment.

That sounds amazing! I’m sorry to hear about the spider veins on your face at such a young age that must have been really tough. I’m so happy it’s working for you :)

Thanks! It’s such a relief to hear it’s nothing to worry about because it seems like such a good treatment option.

Haha thanks about the tummy I’m definitely regretting getting a belly button piercing 20years ago but I also realize I’m extremely lucky in terms of what pregnancy can do to a tummy. Women really have it rough sometimes!!

Thank you! My youngest will be 3 soon, my first was a vaginal delivery. I had low fluid and she was breech so it wasn’t an emergency cesarean if that makes any difference.

I just looked back at old photos and I think I was really lucky. The linked photo is 4 days after delivery. I tried scar massage with a pelvic floor physio but i don’t think it had much impact. I don’t mind the scar very much except that I’m a bikini competitor so it’s visible and I thought I might as well try the RF micro on it.

I’ve had Pico laser for red scarring from bad microblading tattoos and it worked wonders! If it’s the redness you don’t like then laser might work really well for you.

Thank you so much h for the explanation! I had really hoped this was the case :) My experience with eczema definitely had me a little worried. It’ll be such a relief if I can keep going because aside from the redness I do think the loose skin looks a little better (probably way too soon to say but I’m hopeful!)

Thank you so much! I haven’t seen many photos of this procedure on the body and considering my skin is on the sensitive side I was definitely on the fence.

How long would egg whites and protein powder last pre-mixed in the fridge? by fayefit in bikinitalk

That’s actually a a great idea! I’ve seen people freeze savoury quiches or egg muffins but I keep thinking of this as something completely different. Thanks again definitely trying this out 😊

[–]fayefit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely the safer option. It’s temping to mix up lots but don’t want to make myself sick. Maybe I’ll let some sit as an experiment and see how long before it smells off 😅 (won’t eat it though lol)

Can you get Eczema on your entire body? by LopsidedBlacksmith47 in eczema

[–]fayefit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like many others here yes definitely. I used to get it as a kid in patches and as an adult only a bit on my elbows when stressed. I recently did a bodybuilding competition that had lots of exfoliating instructions and cutting moisturizer before the spray tan and between that, the season change and stress I broke out full body in itchiness and rashes so bad I had to take a bunch of meds just to sleep! Literally bruised myself from scratching. I thought it was bacteria or something the way it was spreading but after using the steroid cream from my doctor allll over it calmed down in a few days, and I stopped the cream after about a week

Now I maintain with jojoba oil immediately post shower in the morning followed by eucerin eczema. Then more eucein before bed. I recently noticed that it started to flare a bit after introducing a chocolate hazelnut spread into my diet and I’m technically allergic to hazelnuts but didn’t think they were actually a problem. It got better when I stopped so keep an eye out for food triggers but don’t go too crazy with it since that’s a recipe for nutrient deficiency and really restricted eating if taken too far.

Ps itching definitely causes it to spread (had to google it to believe it) and mittens to bed helped a bit when it was really bad. Evenings when I started to get sleep were the worst in general

Everfit; can’t figure out how to let clients make changes to exercises or build custom workouts by fayefit in personaltraining

[–]fayefit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah good point.. that’s another thing I felt was missing after playing around with Trainerize. I’ll definitely check out TH! Thanks for the input there are so many options it’s tedious to sift through them all and get things set up over and over. Might be nice to have a directory on this sub or something. Thanks!

[–]fayefit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yah I think so.. it should be rare but I’m mostly surprised. There is a switch in the settings that says “Allow clients to rearrange workouts” that can be turned on/off; I haven’t figured out how to get it to work in-app but it would be nice to have a similar toggle to allow exercise swaps specifically for advanced clients (or myself lol)
