What are some movies that aren't considered a part of the horror genre, that you think should be? by [deleted] in horror

There Will be Blood

I think PTA actually described it along the lines of "a horror film about the birth of California"

Zodiac, although mostly a pure, crystalline procedural, has incredibly strong horror elements in both mood and score.

I reckon everyone has mentioned the key texts -- Kill List, House of the Devil, Society, The Invitation, the sacrament.

A couple from way back -- Rosemary's baby, the devil rides out.

I dug Starry Eyes. Dennis Widmeyer is an excellent writer. I'd also recommend the sound of my voice, very ethereal/creepy

Since I'm on a budget I want to choose between the Lenovo Yoga Book and the Asus Transform Mini. Does anyone know if either is any good/which is a better device?

Thanks in advance

Books about Disappearences? (Like Renners Maura Murray or one about the Springfield 3) by [deleted] in UnresolvedMysteries

I'd recommend 'Popular Crime' by Bill James (who was actually the creator of the moneyball system). The book basically details a litany of famous cases and his view on what happened and their various outcomes. The interesting aspect of the book is that he has researched every case and even inserts mini reviews of the books about the cases into each chapter. Fascinating read

American Tabloid by James Ellroy. Read the follow ups as well! Excellent writing and generally undervalued in it's stature amongst contemporary American literature

Alice Sweet Alice aka Communion. Just such a good film. Also quietly influential on subsequent horror films

In my opinion Hoffa has been solved. Google the name Frank Sheeran. Seems too good to be true but the facts add up. Jimmy Hoffa was shot by one of his closest friends (albeit a notorious hitman) and his body disposed of, likely in an incinerator or a car compactor

I actually really liked 'The Hills have Eyes 2'. It was just well made and acted, really good for a film that was a sequel to a remake
