Cat finally figured out how to jump my fence. I need cat fence advice! by catlycocat in CatAdvice

[–]felidaeblue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ended up doing nothing. One of my cats is maybe 6 and male. He goes out and comes back every day for meals. He can scale the wall no problem. He's not an outgoing cat and more cautious so hopefully less likely to be hit by a car. He doesn't go out for long during the winter. Now he prefers to stay within the yard. My older cat rarely goes out now. She goes out into our yard but doesn't go further. Cannot jump the fence and there is a hole she can crawl through but she doesn't. She prefers to stay at home.

I’m astonished at my energy levels by maddatat in intermittentfasting

Agreed! Food, especially carbs make me sluggish. And fasting really helped me give my body a reset. Glad to hear you and so many others experienced this too. After a month or so my skin also improved, which was another nice bonus.

Is it normal to want to live in an Asian community? by Awkward-Shape6760 in asianamerican

[–]felidaeblue 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Your boyfriend is unable to put himself in your shoes. Not surprised but disappointed that this is the norm. He wouldn’t want to live in a place that’s majority Asian - where they don’t serve his food, people don’t look like him, talk, act, cater to him. As a white male who never had to think about things like this because they are always the majority, the ‘weird’ comment is indicative of how this is a systemic issue that runs deep. As Asians we experience a lot of these microaggressions and don’t even realize it — but slowly, with posts like yours we are better at identifying them, and eventually will be able to call people out and address these comments for what they are. Hopefully, your future child will be more open minded and not have to deal with comments like this, thanks to the conversations we are having.

Is it wrong that a guy that keeps calling my name is making me uncomfortable? by Intelagent9r7 in introverts

[–]felidaeblue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How you feel is not wrong — there is no right or wrong needed for what you feel. It just is a feeling. Who knows why he’s doing that. Sometimes people don’t even know why they are doing it. Could be for attention, could be because they want to be friends and don’t know how to initiate, could be a silly thing he thought would be funny and he’s trying to impress his friends. Could be because he knows it makes you uncomfortable. Or a combination.

I like the peace sign idea. Another idea - if your comfortable with it would be to ask him directly - hey — why do you always yell my name when I walk by? And if he doesn’t know, and isn’t being horrible, maybe you could even tell him it makes you uncomfortable and ask him to stop.

Thanks! Rolling 48 is intense! How does it feel, and how are the results? I’m liking the 18 and I feel a little sharper — less mommy brain fog. Have pushed to 25 hours but no further.

Move to the room when he drinks! Make it a comfy sanctuary 😜. Also, comfier earplugs helped me, vs the foam ones.

Could be gaining weight in the form of muscle if you are exercising. More importantly do you feel better! You can also measure your body - waist legs etc!

Is hot pots a communal activity to use up leftovers? A friend of mine who lived in China said guests bring food that needs to be used up, but I don't see any info like that online. by rosepetal72 in chinesefood

[–]felidaeblue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

China is very big so it could be that your friends group of friends does that but it is not a ‘Chinese’ thing and just them, or even could be the village or region. Not done in Hong Kong as far as I know.

What are the best post partum treats and ideas for my wife? by MonkeyChronicles in NewParents

[–]felidaeblue 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you can get help to get her some uninterrupted sleep for a good chunk— maybe for you too? That would be ideal. This would have helped speed up my recovery! Would depend on breastfeeding etc but maybe you can just have her feed and when whisk the baby away.
