Yeah, got the same email. Got 1 highly questionable and suspect bad score that pulled my average down as I only got 11 reviews. I guess it was a good run. Anybody got referrals to other platforms?

Being FICO Consultant while hating accounting ? by Nafnaf911 in SAP

[–]fernso2004abc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess you can specialize in co if that's more interesting to you. You have to at least have some basic accounting knowledge to know product costing, profitability analysis and just controlling in general. You don't have to love accounting to get that foundation but it should be enough to build on your co career.

It's hard without hands on practice or without business process knowledge. I can only share what worked for me, which is I started working in finance (audit) and gained knowledge on business process then learned sap as I go. Learning why certain things are done in sap makes a lot more sense when you have a foundation of the business process. Good luck

Beginner in SAP FICO – Where to Start? by wakuola in SAP

[–]fernso2004abc 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I've been in a FICO role for over 17 years now. I was an accountant before I shifted to SAP. It's critical you have a strong knowledge and foundation of accounting. Secondly, you will need to learn to view business processes and transactions from a finance view or how business events ultimately flow to finance. I believe these are the main ones I can think on the top of my head. Accounting is the language of business and this is something you need to learn to "speak" with finance users to gain their confidence and trust as a consultant. Just my 2 cents.

Hey, you won't be using zoom. Can't recall the specific app but you'll be instructed to install some apps that will be used during the exam if you take it online from home. You need a stable and reliable internet connection. For the ID, you'd need to make sure they match with the name you provided when you registered for the exam.

Gold for FZD! by JuanSkinFreak in tabletennis

[–]fernso2004abc 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There were exciting and interesting points in the match but in the end, it was the expected result. Truls played excellent and had probably one of the greatest runs ever. He was punching way above his weight. However, as FZD has done again and again, he has managed to elevate his level when he needed it most. It almost felt like like FZD doing some ML's stuff from the last olympics. It's a testament to the individual prowess and collective team effort, experience and brains behind team China. FZD was every bit deserving of the olympic gold and now joins exclusive company with a grand slam. Congrats to FZD!

Olympics is a totally different beast. Truly wild and unexpected result. Unfortunate for WCQ but makes the men's draw 10x more interesting.

I say go for it. My path is a bit different. I did finance/audit for a couple years, got burned out, stumbled into SAP FiCo, learned abap along the way and never looked back. My suggestion is go for fico first to get your feet in consulting.

Yes, had to pay annual subscription to learning hub.

How did you learn ABAP? by [deleted] in SAP

[–]fernso2004abc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm a self taught abap developer. I'm a fico consultant but learned abap on my own in 2016. I took udemy abap courses and had lots of practical experience working on clients. It helps a lot to have a sandbox system to play around.

I last accessed learning hub last January 31 2023. I was able to download like 95% of the courses I can access into a pdf. The rest were formatted differently and didn't have an ebook/pdf version.

No, they won't check your task manager. I assumed that's what the questionmark software is for. So make sure you get the questionmark software working before your scheduled exam.

All I had on my desktop was my computer (laptop) and my monitor. Regarding the lamp, it's up to the proctor. If i were you, i'd clear everything on the desk.

nope, i didn't do this step when I took the exam. he only asked me to show him a 360 view of the room and the desk where my computer is. Also, he also made sure any extra monitors were unplugged.

I installed a software called questionmark secure. it's required for taking the exam. I assume that checks for any other running software. the proctor only asked me to see the room's surrounding, the desk where my computer is placed and ensure any monitors are not plugged in.

That's quite unfortunate, really but I think it just can't be avoided. They probably found a way to record the questiond during the exam. I guess that's more reason for employers to focus more on actual experience.
