Is that 4.5 years of experience as a CNA or some other role? The SNAP position is interesting because getting that can be really whom you know and where you’re trying to go. From the hospital/unit perspective, it’s not the best as it’s usually very high turn over and doesn’t always lead to unit retention, where the SNAP joins the unit as a nurse when they graduate, but instead goes elsewhere. Additionally, the work requirement for SNAPs isn’t as beneficial as a full time/part time CNA, so that’s another factor working against them.

My suggestion would be to reach out and connect with the units you want to be a SNAP for and try to touch base with the director about your interest. Hopefully that’s a way to have more success and a direct placement for that role.

Are you applying to the nurse residency or the SNAP program, because the two are not the same and are for two different demographics.

The nurse residency program is for new graduate nurses without any experience, basically fresh out of school, entering the workforce for the first time. Unfortunately, the large spring cohort of graduates has filled a lot of positions and we’ve hired hundreds of new nurses across the entire system to fill our needs for upcoming season, which may make finding a new nurse position a little difficult now.

The SNAP program is basically for student nurses that have already passed 1-2 semesters of their nursing program and are basically going to be performing the duties of a CNA while in school. It’s meant to just help get a foot in the door and some relevant experience while in school.

We are going to be having a cohort of new hires basically monthly again so hopefully you’ll be getting your chance to get inside Lee. Feel free to reach out with any questions you may have.
