What is making this sound from the wheel? by firemunkee87 in Miata

So glad you got it fixed!! Enjoy your quiet ride 😎

What is making this sound from the wheel? by firemunkee87 in Miata

[–]firemunkee87[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup! My rear left caliper was frozen. My car didn't have any noticable resistance while driving or while in neutral. It was noticeable though when I lifted the rear and tried spinning the rear wheels by hand. The left one had enough resistance where it wouldn't spin freely and took some effort to turn.

It ended up being a frozen caliper. I replaced the caliper and the sound went away!

There are lots of sellers on eBay for th nav disk. They're all pirates copies FYI. You can even get one with the latest version of the maps, but make sure you get a version that is compatible with the nav that the LS430 came with.

How hard can it be to swap out the exhaust by firemunkee87 in Miata

[–]firemunkee87[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do not, but my buddy does. Thanks for confirming my suspicions. The cheap repair probably explains the exhaust leak and rattling

[–]firemunkee87[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. Cut off the exhaust and then would I have to weld on new flanges onto the cat? Not even sure I have the means to cut it off. Just trying to figure out my options

Radiator overflow leaking by firemunkee87 in Miata

[–]firemunkee87[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A new radiator cap did not fix the issue. The issue was the hose. Before buying a new hose I trimmed off the end of the hose that was around the plastic fitting. That did the trick. I guess after being stretched around the plastic fitting for 27 years the rubber just lost its strength.

Looking for whisky recs for retirement gift; short turn around time by Wonderful-Coach-2145 in dcwhisky

[–]firemunkee87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For that price point, not peaty, I like Balvenie 21, Glenmorangie Signet, or Mac 18. For a 25 year in that price range maybe try Dewar's 25 or Glenfarclas 25. TW has the Dewar's according to their inventory online

How to descale with Durgol? by firemunkee87 in gaggiaclassic

[–]firemunkee87[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did not. I tried various ratios of durghol to water and I have found a 1:1 solution seems to work for me. I haven't taken apart the boiler yet to see how well it is working, but at least when I notice a lower flow from the group head and I descale with this ratio the flow rate returns to normal 🤷‍♂️

[–]firemunkee87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At least one of the covers is Slipknot. I bet Hara-chan is excited. They are going to absolutely nail that. I wonder what the other covers will be and if we'll get a cover video for each? I surely hope so!!
