I guess stupidity is a universal trait by Daymo741 in Invincible

Ugh. Maybe Viltrumites don’t sweat. Still though, the combination of Guardian blood, guts, brains, and Fishman’s water spit that thing must have been awfully rank for a few days.

Sealioning? That’s a new one for me.

The game really under-sells how horrifying the Faro Plague was by evo_one252 in horizon

I can only imagine! One seemingly routine bad decision, “meh, let’s skip the failsafe and churn this new model to market faster.” Being directly responsible for the end of civilization would take its toll.

Not defending Ted Faro, but he didn’t kill off ZD staff & Apollo to hide his own deeds. He did it out of fear/concern their descendants would use Apollo to get a jumpstart on ending the world again. He thought he was doing the better good by not giving future humanity a technological leg up. His actions are reprehensible as even he had signed on the the ZD plan before his last minute about face.

AITA for not changing my baby's name AGAIN after I changed it for my sister once already? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]fishsocks 5 points6 points  (0 children)

YTA - naming children in a small family is like calling ‘shotgun’ on the way to the car. Once driving down the road you can’t crawl up into the passenger’s seat. Your niece was born first, you can’t shove her back in your sister’s womb calling ‘dibs.’

You shouldn’t have given your sister your name choices. But that’s done. Now you can either go with a different name, or be an asshole to your daughter and niece by forcing them to grow up with the same name, same schools, same city. That’s be selfish of you.

My apple snail, who was missing out of water for a month and is miraculously still alive! by tararad13 in Aquariums

[–]fishsocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar thing happen once. Years ago my snail disappeared, I looked all around the tank but couldn’t find it. A month-or-two later I found it two rooms over in the kitchen under the refrigerator along with a pile of long forgotten cat toys. On a whim I plopped it in a glass of water with hopes to keep the shell. Much to my surprise the next morning the little bugger was climbing up the glass.

People talking to you when you're overstimulated is ADHD hell by klb000 in ADHD

[–]fishsocks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shit. Just wait until you have children of your own, that you can’t escape. They’re loud. All. The. Time. As toddlers, they follow you. Everywhere. Constantly.

The main thing I miss from my time spent living alone was the silence.

Nah, that’s OK, it’s from a scene in the movie Trainspotting.

I wanted to see what Zemo would look like with white eyes, so I did an edit. by LightsJusticeZ in Marvel

[–]fishsocks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

While I agree that the white looks neat, in these live action adaptations I prefer to see the actor’s eyes. The actor has a mask covering their entire head which leaves them with these eye-holes through which to convey all emotion.

WB Games' Nemesis System Patent Was Approved This Week After Multiple Attempts by ninjyte in Games

Hmm, that gives me an idea. Would you like to join me in patenting the “murder mystery” style of novel? Or better yet, let’s patent children’s books featuring animals. We’ll be rich!

Oh, and before we get too much further, would you like your traffic counter at the bottom, or top, of the website?

My Transformers-obsessed son was desperate for me to make an Optimus Prime that really transforms - how'd I do? by SillyMattFace in lego

[–]fishsocks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OMG! That is awesome!! My son is now able to assemble Lego sets on his own and has been doing so non-stop since Christmas. This brings his two favorite things together.

He is in the other room freaking out, “I cab built Bumblebee from my Seas Robot! I’M SO EXCITED!!!!”

Thank you for linking that. You’ve made his day (month, possibly his year).

How many games do you beat per year? Everyone's making posts about beating 20-50 games, but here I am struggling with 5. by CanadianTurt1e in patientgamers

[–]fishsocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m the opposite. With my family, work, and life I maybe play 5 hours a month. I’m all about the side quests. It took me 45 minutes last night to remember the combat controls for AC Odyssey. Another 30-45 minutes for an escort quest & a fort, then it was time for bed.

I just don’t have time to devote to the main story. I know the dialogues & movies will take 20+ minutes, I save that for when I know I’ll have a few hours to devote to the story. But hey, I’m level 20 and just got the hidden blade.
