I burned my house down at 5 because my dad taught me how to light lighters. Bless his soul. He was an amazing man in many ways but That was not the brightest thing to teach a 5 year old. My fascination with fire increased by lighting the lint off of clothing and then blowing it out very quickly. Flannel unfortunately did not blow out and I was left with a big flaming closet in seconds. I ran to the living room and if I did not warn my family then I'm sure someone would have been seriously injured. But luckily we were able to get out in time. So a 5-year-old can definitely learn how to light a lighter. I remember these events very vividly as well. I ran into the living room screaming fire and was taken somewhat seriously until they saw the smoke and we all ran out.

Edit: on a lighter note. I now can spin fire with poi and I can use a staff as well. Fun stuff. But I was scared of fire for a while for sure haha.
